Rubio's Chula Vista

We actually went to the Rubio's on Eastlake Parkway, but since that location is not listed here I had to choose this Broadway location.
That said, my wife and I were on our way to see the Padres and thought we'd grab a couple burritos. There was no one else waiting to place their order except my wife and I, and 6 employees working on a large to go order, placed before we arrived. We were not greeted and we stood at the counter for ten full minutes before someone would take our order. There was no greeting, just a dismissive gesture! We placed our order and it took another 15 minutes to get our order and again there was no one in line behind us, no drive thru, and only one order placed ahead of us, which was huge, but they had six employees. The food was terrible! I've eaten at Rubio's many times and have always liked the service and the food. But this store in Eastlake is terrible and I won't go back. There are many choices in this area with similar cuisine. I contacted corporate with my complaint and they gave me the same dismissive gesture I got in the restaurant. I guess they don't need me as a customer.

The fish tacos are great at Rubio's, but I really love their salsa bar - the hot salsa is great - and their burritos. Overall their food is great.

i balked at fish tacos when i moved here, unitl i had my first one. i have had many more but i will always come back to rubio's. my husband doesn't like seafood but he always find something he enjoys as well. heck, and they have beer!
what more could you want.

This is the closest you'll come to a good fish taco this side of the border. The price is great and the food (all of it) is delish! The street tacos are also very mummy. I don't know why, but my husband loves te churos! He wants me to write that you should try them!
