UPDATE 7/8: Revoked license!: I'm a customer who hired S&M for roofing, rain gutters, siding and exterior paint in early November 07. They were a NIGHTMARE. Their incompetence has left the job unfinished (horrible painting that they delayed re-doing, despite admitting it was done wrong) and when it rained heavily on Dec. 18, 2007, I had an indoor waterfall in my den. Literally, H20 ran thru the light fixture into the room, ruining insulation, ceiling, drywall, desk, computer, hardwood flooring, and personal items. Despite that it's all under contract, I S&M would not reply until I contacted the CA State License Board and reported them for abandonment and inadequate work. After all, why would S&M be honorable, since they were paid their money already? Since then, the CSLB has sent an industry expert to assess damage, who was appalled when he saw video footage of the indoor waterfall. A state licensed appraiser also assessed the damage, was mortified, and wrote a negative report about S&M's work. We were ordered by the state to aribitration, I won, and now they've run while owing me a jugment of $7305. They are dishonorable and do shoddy work. Beware of Steve Mitchell Sr, Steve Jr(son) and Elva(son's wife)and Bobbie(Steve Sr.'s wife)..the team at S&M! They "change" their biz address from Temple City to Baldwin Park to Venice to Pasadena, etc, so check license status.
