I booked a group trip for 18p to the Dominican Republic. The rate was okay. The service was the problem. Daniel, the travel agent, would rarely return phone calls or emails. And for the fist 2 months, monies were not been debited from the traveler's accounts! He had some computer glitches. The icing on the cake was when I called him with concerns about the hotel we would be staying at. I was reading really poor reviews that they were having construction and the service was poor. I asked Daniel to check on this. Two days later, a traveler called me saying she got a refund for her trip! Daniel had canceled our trip- 2 months before departure!!!!-without even telling me. When I finally talked to him, he stated that he did not get a good response from the hotel about the construction so he canceled our trip. His explanation was that he did not want us to have a miserable trip. He stated that he did not offer us the best customer service so canceling now would allow us to get a full refund and to find an agent who would better serve us!!! Needless to say, all faith was lost with my travelers and the group of 18 is now 6. I will never use them again in my life.

My organization has used Sankofa for its travel and we have found that not only have the prices been great for international travel, but the customer service is above and beyond. One traveler's international flight was delayed in the US, causing the traveler to know before hsi departure that he would miss his connecting flight. A call was made to Sankofa and the rep worked on it, ensuring that the traveler's connecting flight was changed and no additional charges would be incurred. More than that, Sankofa was working on this late on Saturday night, into Sunday morning. The e-mail confirming the situation had been taken care of came at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Highly recommend Sankofa Travel for travel needs.
