Horrible business
Scana cutoff my gas after missing one bill. Payment for next month was already in the mail. No warning whatsoever. When talking to customer service, the agent said that they have thousands of customers and it would be too much of a hassle to give everyone warnings before shutting their gas off. I am switching gas companies and will never deal with this company or their parent company again in my life.

One of the worst experiences of my life
They cut my gas off with no warning. I paid the amount in full 15 min after they cut it off along with their 60 dollar reconnect fee. This was Friday afternoon and even though I have a severe heart condition there was no way I could jump through their firehoops about the doctor's letter until today. I told someone they were playing me and would make me wait all day till after 5 and guess what happened? oh they got the medical note but it said electricity instead of gas so I have to wait till in the morning to call my Dr back. Yeah, I can't live without a lamp but I can freeze to death. I'm not supposed to stress out but it will be a miracle if I don't have another heart attack over this. The people at Scana have proof that I'm sick. You would think that would matter to them. It does not matter.

absolutely despicable
This is the first review i have ever written but Scana is a joke. They will turn off your service with absolutely no warning and it can take 5 days to get it back on. I asked Tina @ 8774672262 ext 64295 why they could not call first and she said they had too many customers to do that. What a joke

Tried to rip me off
February bill = $250, March bill, warmer weather and turned the heat off on many days = $360.
Tried to read my meter but the glass is so old you can't see through it. Called scana and they told me I had a radio thing that allowed them to read it without looking and said they would have it re read and replace the glass so I could see it better. Called me back days later and told me the glass had been replaced and that I didn't actually have the radio gizmo. Glass was never replaced so no one can actually read the meter but they claimed to have reread it and dropped my bill by $140. Basically they just pull a number out of their ass and if you pay it the the jokes on you.

okay
I missed two of my bills, and this company turned off my gas almost immediately. They didn't call to let me know that they were turning it off. Additionally, they charged a $60 fee to turn it back on. On the positive side of things, customer service on the telephone was prompt (877-go-scana) and the technician that would turn it back on came out in three business days.
