Saint Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta

I was in for a week and was taken very good care of. Most of the doctors and nurses were friendly and informative, although there were a couple of nurses who were curt and unfriendly. Being in a hospital is a miserable experience, but at least the staff made sure I had every need met (and keeping me very drugged up ), and was very kind to my visiting fiance.

My 87-year-old mother was hospitalized at St Joe's for four days in December. Although I agree with others that the staff is friendly, no one told her or me that she'd experienced at TIA. They put her on insulin for her diabeties, but she was never told how to use it. If I hadn't been visiting at the time, I can't imagine how she would have fared. I was upset with the lack of communication. My mother is very old, but she is still mentally alert and quite able to understand everything. No one communicated anything.

I've had two experiences with St. Joe's -- treatment in the ER and then an outpatient procedure. Both experiences were excellent from start to finish. I highly recommend this hospital.

I'd tell anybody to go here. I've had many family members stay here as well as myself and they treat you like a person and NOT just a number. I truely feel they are there to comfort and card for you and NOT just going to another day at their job. Very comfortable atmosphere.

the nursing floors are very short staffed!
