since I can't tell the whole story in detail with the KUDZU prescribed 250 words restriction lets just say that much: TOTAL RIPOFF! instead of asking what lunch choice you want they act like there is no choice and charge you almost $25 pp for lunch. of course there is a $12 choice too but they don't tell you and just act like there is no choice. we had been there before so I knew and assumed it was $12 as usual since not being asked. and than: boom, $49 for 2 lunch and 1 coke! I complained to the owner who was on his high horse and just tried to brush me off at first instead of apologizing for the questionable 'oversight' and lower my bill to the $12 lunch price which I certainly would have chosen. He didn't actually listen but started talking about gas stations(?). In short he wasn't gone fix the problem. When I informed him that I'm an unhappy costumer and will share my experience online he got totally puffed up in my face in front of the whole restaurant and asked me if I was threatening him! He appeared he was close to punching me. REALLY!!! Very professional. I told him I don't threaten anybody but will share my experience, said good by and walked out (after having paid of course). You couldn't make this up. This wouldn't happen in a Waffle House. And they are trying to play in a higher price category?! You got to be kidding!!!

Let me preface by saying: we are long-term customers. Tonight, Sal Grosso lost our business due to poor service. Managaement (John) was very ungracious in responding to a reasonable alternative seating request. In addition, no communication on exit (no good evening, no thank you for coming, no how was your meal). For these prices, service should be excellent. Too bad, this used to be our "go to" place for birthdays, anniversaries, special date nights...

We love this local Brazilian steakhouse. The salad bar is fresh and delicious, and the service is excellent. (We don't eat pork, and the waiters have always, always made an extra effort to bring all the other meats around more frequently - and they do it with a smile.)

First time eating Brazilian--my husband has been to Brazil and thought this was very authentic. It was a great experience. Price makes it a place for special occasions not every day. But the food was great--the flavor the service....

I have been a fan of Sal Grosso for about 5 years. It has always been my first choice for special occassions and have enjoyed introducing friends, family and clients to the experience. Unfortunately, the quality of the service has declined over the years. I recieved an email recently saying that you can eat free the week of your birthday. This is something they have offered for some time and we have enjoyed this offer from time to time. Today we were celebrating a birthday at lunch. The service was awful! The server did not give us the attention we have been accustom to in the past, our low beverage levels were not addressed until we were nearly finished with our meal. I know he was not busy, as he stood at he server's station or at the bar with nothing to do and there were barely any customers in the place. We may have been the only customers he had. The selection of meats was sparse, again not the usual. When it came time to pay and we told him that we were celebrating a birthay, he told us that we needed to have a print out of the offer, or a coupon in order to receive the discount. Never in the past have we ever been told anything of this sort. The email message did not say anything about printing the page. In the end we were not able to receive the b-day offer. I am so disappointed in the low service standard that seems to becoming the norm for Sal Grosso. I can not honestly give them the high recommendations I have in the past.

This is the only SAL GROSSO in the US, and the food is great! Don't eat for days before you go though....you want up wanting to try everything! Go at lunch cause it's cheaper for what you would get at dinner. Save your self some money!

We have been to Sal Grosso three times and love it. We don't get out much and go there for special occassions, mostly because it costs more than what we would pay for a regular night out to dinner. Glass of wine was a bit expensive ($9 for a very small pour), but other than that we love it. Definately must be hungry when you go to make it worth it.

If you like your steaks well overcooked, then this is the place for you. Our service was extremely slow. It took over 10 minutes for each drink order. We had to ask for water twice and we finally didn't get it until the end of the meal. Would not come back here again.

For the amount of money we spent, the service was extremely slow. All the waiter had to do was take our drink and dessert order, yet it still took over 10 minutes each time to get the drink order. He didn't bring us any water so that left us with nothing to drink for most of the meal. Some of the meat was extremely dry and tough. I felt like I was eating leather. There actually was not much that was cooked right.

Awesome if you are hungry and like meat. Their salad bar has a great selection and is delicious, but nothing beats all the meat. Is a little pricey though, so come hungry and beware, dessert is not included.

If you don't like beef, you can get the chicken fish option which will save you a few $. Don't bother coming here if you aren't hungry and can't eat a ton. You'll end up paying dearly for the variety. For the most part, the items are well seasoned and cooked, and I'm more partial to some meats than others. The salad bar is always stocked with lots of fresh items but probably isn't worth it for a vegetarian.

We took some friends and perhaps our expectations were too high. For the price $$$ I thought the food would be better. They did give us all we wanted, no problem there, but the quality just was not that good.

My first visit was cool. But after i started coming more often the waitress got used to me coming so the service started slacking. I even spoke to the owner and he didnt even apologize or extend any complimentary meals. Now I will try Fogo De Chao. I also liked Fire of Brazil. Sal Grosso seems to be a bit cocky and arrogant and plus whenever i do go, its never crowded, and I see why, There is competition in the ATL area, Fire of Brazil has two locations in ATL now, dont let Sal Grosso be your first experience with a Brazilian Steakhouse. Try Fogo de Chao, Fire of Brazil, and then Sal Grosso.
