I went here a few weeks ago with my girlfriend and we were both unimpressed by the exhibits they offered. They might be fun for children under 16 but being a college educated individual, I wasn't really wowed by any of the information they offered. The exhibits were cool but they're all replicas of findings so it's not as exciting as seeing the real thing.

The San Diego Museum of Man has lots and lots of skeletons, and acutal mock-ups of what early man might have looked like. I like the skeletons the best, because for me they are like a road-map of the person's life. They have a skeleton of a person with a deformed thigh bone. who lived to a moderate age. How different that person's life might have been. They also have artifacts from the periods.

This museum is less accessible than some and does not offer many interactive displays for kids but has some interesting Egyptian and Mayan exhibits that adults will enjoy.

Being the only anthropological museum in the city, there is a wide collection of artifacts and folk art from prehistoric times. Simply a must see for all!
