used this vet for my pets health care and boarding for the past two years. While they were definately not the cleanest, most modern, or cheapest vet in my area-it was the vet recommended to me when I first moved to Jacksonville. I was never overly impressed with the front desk staff but did not realize until recently the lack of professionalism and integrity that exists on every level of staff within the practice. To make a long story short...if you choose this vet for boarding you MUST ensure that you are ready for them to charge whatever they dream up for brushing your pet after the bath that they REQUIRE you to get. They added a $46.00 charge (along with the $25 bath just for 5 days of boarding!) Grooming includes a haircut and only costs my dog $50 total there so why on earth would I pay $71 with no cut? They demanded I pay for something I never authorized and when I asked to see where in writing this was disclosed they said its not in writing but a fair charge! I ended up getting the $46 charge removed and I will NEVER go back to that place. (It's a shame that I had to threaten to call my attorney for them to remove the charge that I never authorized) They are rude and crooks!

We are always concerned when a client is dissatisfied with our services. However, our boarding releases which are signed by owners prior to them leaving their pets, clearly state that it is hospital policy that all pets boarding will receive a bath before discharge and this cost is not included in their boarding charge. We try to make sure every client also receives an estimate of what their charges may be. Our baths include brush out, ear cleaning, and nails trimmed. If a patient is extremely matted, as this one was, the hair must be brushed out before bathing or the matting will be worse. Excessive matting can sometimes take 2-3 hours to brush out completely while keeping the pet comfortable. The extensive time taken by our Animal Care Technicians warrants an additional charge. We try to always keep clients informed of additional fees and treatments that may arise for their pets while they are here as long as we are able to contact the client. I welcome anyone to drop in at anytime for a tour of our hospital and kennels and to judge for yourself the cleanliness of our facilities and the friendliness of our team.
