Poor Service Experience
My wife took her minivan that she purchased from Sandy Springs Toyota in for a service under the Toyota maintenance program. They had the car for more than four hours, but never performed the oil change requested and did not even start what little they did until we called saying that we would be over in 15 minutes to pick up the car. I purchased tires from them for my Camry and was told by the service guy that they performed rotations and checks for tires purchased there, but on the next service, I was told they would charge me $40 to rotate the tires that I had purchased there. I will never do business with their service department again.

True +ve experience with the dealership
Greetings!.
I want to state the positive experience I had at sandy spring toyota service department. I had some concerns with the schedule maintenance work done on my corolla. On a sunday(yes sunday :-)) I called and talked to ANDY PHILLIPS the service manager. Not only was Andy very polite and helpful but also knew the technical work that needed to be corrected. In two hours, he had my problem related to the water pump corrected and checked the related coolant activity, as well to give me a full fix. Its people like Andy who value "every customer is important" that make a lasting positive impact. I hope this post will make a difference, for anyone looking out there for inputs.

Wishes as well.

A Character Building Day
This review pertains to the service department exclusively. My Corolla was recalled last fall. I contacted the service department and an employee by the name of Kim assured me the part was in stock and he could fix my car that day. I took the car in, reminded Kim of what I needed and waited in the lobby for about 2 hours. After that time lapsed, Kim informed me that I needed $800 worth of work on my car. I stated that I could not afford that at this time and was only interested in the recall. He stated that I owed $50 for a diagnostic test. I conveyed my confusion, as I was only there for the free recall. He then told me that they did not even have the recalled part. I was stunned considering I had been so clear regarding my needs. He insisted I pay the $50 and when I calmly questioned this he handed my paperwork to someone else and said "here, deal with her." I ended up having to speak with the head manager. The manager was the only redeeming part of the whole experience. He did empathize with me and waive the diagnostic fee. I just want to post this to prevent anyone else from having such a trying experience. I would advise you to avoid working with Kim if possible.

good service, sort of slow
We've taken our van here several times. They are always good about fixing things and not forcing us into a ton of repairs we don't need. However, they are excruciatingly slow. The price is more reasonable than a typical dealership service center.

Not a good experience this time
I have had positive experiences in the past so that is why I am concerned about my current experience (and Toyota in general). I took my car in multiple times over a five week period due to a check pressure tire light. Times #3 and 4 I saw Nicole. After telling me yet again my tires were fine after adding air to them (specifically one of the tires), they released the car to me each time. Turns out there was a huge nail in my tire that never would have been found if I hadn't insisted something was still wrong. So were my tires ever really checked thoroughly? I got gruff attitude and no apology for the six hours I had to take from work to keep going back to this place week after week. I'm all over the city with that car, with kids in it, and although this may seem like a small thing, it puts a big seed of doubt in my mind about this service center. The service manager was right there when I expressed my shock that four times I was told my tires had been thoroughly checked and yet this nail was found, yet he didn't say a word to me. I asked a technician what the procedure was for providing a customer comment and he looked at me blankly. And so I guess this is the procedure. I am sorry to report this about this service center and hope it was an isolated situation.
