I had lunch here last Friday, had a roast pork sandwich. The pork was very fat and beyond that it was rancid! I could not believe it! The sandwich was terrible, I will never go back to this place. The people were nice but the food was not a bit good. In the cooler case they had Atlantic salmon for something like $16 per pound. Atlantic salmon is all farm raised! Only the uninformed would pay that kind of money for farm raised salmon. Go to Publix, same stuff, way cheaper.

A great sandwich shop / deli right in the middle of Ponce in Decatur. The sandwiches are made to order ... and on fantastic bread which is very important. Lynne -- the owner behind the counter -- is friendly and efficient. You cannot go wrong here.

Well crafted sandwiches with primo ingredients are hard to find in and around Atlanta thanks to the quantity over quality mindset that is so prevalent in a fast growing city. Sawicki's is a rare oasis of top quality and I try to get over there at least once a week (usually a few times) to grab any of several really top notch sandwiches. Plenty of other great stuff as well. I hope Decatur wakes up to this place so it thrives. There's nothing else like it around.
