Schaefer's Shell Service

I went to Schaeffer's Shell Service because it is close to my house. I simply wanted my oil changed and I had a couple bulbs I needed put in. First of all, it took them 10 minutes to even come in at the register and help me because they were out talking and joking with what appeared to be a friend from across the street. I asked them the pricing for an oil change, which was fine. I asked them to put in the rear bulb, and I also needed my headlight replaced. They charged me $18 labor to screw in EACH bulb! That is highway robbery as any other place ive ever gotten my oil changed at did those things for free. They did not even tell me they were charging for that until I picked up my car 3 HOURS LATER! They also charged $20 for the extra bulb. I feel discriminated on because I am a female. I have never been so upset with any customer experience, as I work in customer sales and we are ALWAYS told to set the expectation for the customer. This is the worst place ever. I will be sure to go back to Jiffy Lube or Plaza Tire because they always treat me right. I have never emailed a company with a customer complaint, just because I can usually brush it off, but this was the worst experience ive ever had. I will never go to a Shell again. Not a gas station or a service Shell. They should have told me the cost of the install BEFORE I picked up my car, especially if it was $18 PER BULB. It is not a huge service to screw a bulb in.

The service at this shop is exceptional. I'm sure that's why they have been in business as long as they have. I forgot to leave the door key to my car and they sent someone out to my house get them. I'm disabled and that was a great help.

I've been going to Schaefer Shell to get my oil changed and car worked on for over 7 years, and have never had any complaints with the work. One time I thought they didn't fix my breaks correctly, so they road around town in my car with me to listen to the "squeek" I thought I was hearing. All was fine, and I appreciated the extra mile of re-assurance they gave me.I always think its a sign of a good mechanic when you bring your car in because you think it needs something replaced, and they inform you that its still good, and you don't need to spend the extra money.

Take my car in for its checkup and Gene makes sure evertyhing is okay. I have been taking my car to Gene for three years and I trust him.
