First time using a lawn service. Billed for application of fertilizer on Fescue lawn on 9/23 that did not take place - no one showed on the security system and no evidence of applied granules (I personally core aerated the yard 6 days after said application with no rain in between and saw no granules on the ground or concrete areas). Reported it and Scott's LawnService credited the account. Second visit on 10/22 I was home and put the dogs away and there was no issue. Third visit on 11/20 they got fertilizer on the concrete pool deck and pool cover (I have photos). I consulted with Lusk Pool's and they indicated that this will cause issues with Algae control and recommended draining the pool. Having to drain the pool and replace all of the water $250, salt $120, chlorine stabalizer $35, calcium chloride $40, sodium bicarbonate$35 and algecide $20. All totalled $500. Obviously I have cancelled the service. Thankfully I did not prepay for the service. I spoke with the Service Manager from Scott's LawnService (Michael Whaley) on 1/9/15 and he tried to tell me that the small amount of fertilizer that got in the pool is not an issue and I should be able to just shock the pool and this should fix it. I asked him if he understood what the Nitrogen does in a pool and he said no. I told him that I disagreed and there is no pool product on the market for removing Nitorgen from pool water except draining. Also heavily shocking a vinyl lined pool causes bleaching of the liner

I had this sevice in 2013. I signed up for 8 applications and prepaid for a discount. Scotts applied a preemergent, but come spring my lawn was full of poa annua. You may know that this noxious grass is a weed in a bermuda lawn. I called this local Scotts Lawn Service 3 times asking for a supervisor or manager. They never retured my calls. A technician called and basically said it will just die out come summer. It did and left brown patches. I did not renew, but 2/20/14 Scotts applied round 1 and charged me $47. I called both national and local customer service. I was told that I did not call to cancel. Their invoice says, "For your convenience, service continues season to season." No, not winter to spring, etc. It is year to year. Local Scotts says no record of my complaints. Said I would get an email confirmation of cancel. Not. These people are liars and incompetent. The season to season gets you. They hope you say, 'What the heck, I'll just contine.' Skip the agravation - do not hire this so called lawn service.

Where to begin? We are selling our house and wanted the lawn looking good so we called Scott's without looking at reviews online. Big MISTAKE. I knew this company was BS when the jackbag "technician" sprayed my neighbors lawn instead of mine and when I called the office about it some punk "manager" started giving me a bunch of attitude and lip like it was my fault. I'm not the one who hired the village idiot that can't tell a 2 from 4. The weeds are still there and they are making excuses. I can promise this: You would do better getting your lawn green and weed free using the money you pay Scott's as toilet paper and putting it on your lawn. Scott's just straight up sucks and the managers are rude and condescending. Scott's knows as much about growing your grass and treating weeds as a desert nomad. This review will be followed up with a scathing letter to their corporate offices as well. Do your self a favor and stay the heck away from this crappy company. Let my pain be your gain.

I've been with Scotts last year; went through the whole year worth of cycle due to my weed issue. Guess what..... I did not see any improvement and now I'm with another company. Their stuff simply does not work and now I know they sell this stuff at local home good store.

I used Scott's for 5 treatments and my lawn still was taken over by Crabgrass and the weeds did not improve. After complaining, I was given several excuses and on the quality control visit they did not do any additional treatments. Not worth the money - I have gotten better results on my own.

I had some crabgrass, the "technician" came and said we have dollar spot so he sold us on fungicide and weed killer. He applied both in a driving rainstorm. It turns out we did not have dollar spot and applying in the heavy rain is quite ineffective. They do not apply enough of the recommended materials to the lawn.

The aeration service was awful. The plugs pulled were minimal at best and the crew left dirt and dirt tracks all over my sidewalks, driveway and stepping stones in the back. The main areas that needed to be addressed by the aeration and recommended by the salesman were not impacted at all and were the primary reason I agreed to the aeration. I hold out hope that their other services are provided at a much higher quality and care level than the aeration.

I have been a long time customer of Scott's, but until recently I would never use them again. I was working from home recently and the technician came to my house and never treated the lawn, he came out of his truck but an invoice on my door and took off. I had the service manger come out and take a look and he could not find any granular in my yard as that should have been the treatment. Management was willing to give me a free aeration, but I don't think that was sufficient. They were about to steal my money, my question to them how long have they been doing it? Their answer, how does your yard look...?

I've been using Scott's since January. Essentially, I'm actually spending less with the service than if I were to buy all the treatments myself. (Which I Used To Do.) It's nice knowing that the correct amounts and correct treatments are being put down. I'm starting to see some very good results. As far as the service issue, I'm not certain where the other rater was coming from. I sent them one message on line and not only received an email but a call. Not sure how ya can get better customer service response.

I hired Scotts to treat my lawn and would receive invoices for work done with no proof that it actually occurred. When I tried to call their customer(no)service department, they were rude and dismissive. The kicker was the invoice I got for $230 in aerating and overseeding that was dated on a day we had torrential downpours. I disputed this ever occurred and was promised it'd be removed and I'd be reinvoiced. That was five months ago - they continue to invoice me for this service I know they did not perform! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There are many better ones around who are honest and reliable!

I like these guys, they take good care of the lawn and do not "over medicate". They are expensive however, but worth the price in my opinion. I canceled last year when they added a "fuel surcharge". It's ridiculous since I know they are treating probably 10 other houses in my neighborhood, and fuel surely can't cost $4 extra dollers per person. Plus, have you ever noticed that no company has ever rolled those charges back? "In light of the recent drop in fuel costs, we are reducing your monthly rate by $2". Yeah right, that'll happen! The fact that I came back to them says a lot. My lawn really went south since I canceled and it was not all draught related. Scotts also provides aerating and overseeding. I know I could do all of the things they do with Scotts products from Home Depot, but honestly, who has the time? It would probably only save me $15 a month anyway.
