Sears Roebuck & Company

I've used Sears Automotive at Northlake for years. I love the convenience, and the prices are competitive when Sears has sales, which is a lot of the time. My two warnings are that this Sears is not good on alignments. Neither of my cars had pulling issues before Sears aligned them but do now. I suspect that Sears has the cars aligned right but failed to properly set the steering wheel in the neutral position both times. I'm sick of going back there (they are quick to give the 'you again' look) and am now heading to the dealership (at an additional cost of $160 for both cars). This store also has a man working customer service who is extremely condescending and rude. It's so bad that I don't even need to say his name--they already know. If you get this man, and you will know within the first minute, I advise you to leave or ask for someone else.

I purchased 4 BF Goodrich tires and had regular 4 wheel alignments, tire rotations, etc at SEARS (retained all of my SEARS receipts). When I spoke to the asst. manager at Northlake Sears (George), he did not honor the 60K warranty on my tires (they were worn out before 30K). He tried to sell me 4 new tires and told me he would give me a discount of 5$ per tire b/c I had been a good customer. I called Sears customer service and filed a complaint. I also contacted BF Goodrich. I also contacted other Sears automotive (Townlake, Cumberland) to see if their managers would be more professional as it seems to depend on the manager's personality vs. the actual tire warranty (other managers including the main SEARS customer service line stated based on what George at Northlake had told me -- the wear was due to improper alignment-- that I should receive a vocher of 50% off tire purchase b/c the tires were shot at 30K not 60K. After several phones calls and another visit to the Northlake store, I spoke to the actual store manager, Mr. Lee who was quite the opposite of George. Mr. Lee honored the warranty and I ended up getting a credit of about 45% of the value of the tires which was applied to 4 new tires. It was a frustrating process and I was told my Mr. Lee I should have not had to call BF Goodrich; the warranty was w/Sears. I suspect this is a training and CS issue.
