This company makes you buy a $4,300 freezer in which you can store the food you order (typically 8 months at a time). Part of your monthly payment goes towards the freezer even if you already have a... freezer where you can store the food. The food tasted good but it is not worth the commitment of also having to buy the freezer! We did not find this out until after a 3 hour demo in our home so it became a big waste of time and the representative became rude when we told him we would have to discuss the program before we signed up. Do not waste your time with this company!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I can tell you as a customer of Service Foods, I love the food and the service. The guy that you want to speak to with service foods is Don Sipos, he's the best in my opinion. I'd really appreciate it if you'd tell him I sent you, (Mark Friedl). Don does not hide anything, he's very transparent regarding costs. Aside from the freezer that we bought from them, the food costs are pretty much in line with what we were spending anyway and it's much better food. Thanks....and Enjoy the food, it is really good and the service is great.

Glad I checked out the reviews after signing up for the program. if it sounds too good to be true, it is! After doing a little research I realized I was buying an over priced freezer rather than food. Fortunately, I cancelled within the 3 day rescission period. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes great, but they never tell you exactly how much of each item you will receive. (see post regarding lack of steaks and plenty of chicken) Once I understood I didn't know what I was getting except a $4K freezer they make you think they are paying for (well actually they are - they discount your food so you will commit to buying an overpriced freezer at a ridiculous interest rate), cancelling was a no brainer. The salesman was very professional and courteous and I don't think he realized the way Service Foods plays with the numbers. He said the freezer would be paid for after 5 orders (2 1/2 years). That's almost true. But with the 20% interest it's more like 5 years. I feel bad for him but if I need a commercial freezer, I'll do some research before buying. I had to rate the service but that's not fair because I cancelled the purchase.

It works out to about $25 a meal, which is cool if you're eating steak, which you don't get much of, not so cool if you're eating chicken, which you get a lot of. We didn't renew when the first load was done. They also don't give you an option to pay cash, so 17% interest is built into their order.

As noted in the prev reviews please stay away from this company. They are deceptive and you will pay 4,200 for a 2,000 freezer on top of the food. Of course they claim you are getting the freezer free in their pitch and only discuss the price of the food and never the cost of the freezer. You will also have a 20% interest rate on your 4,200 freezer. Seriously, we did not pay attention and trusted them and have paid the price. STAY AWAY! You have been warned!!!!

This comapany uses false and deceptive sales pitches to trick you into doing buisiness with them. They will tell you that you can cancel the service at anytime and when you try to cancel because the food quality is poor, you find out that you owe them thousands of dollars for a cheap freezer!!! I hope people check out the reviews that are posted about them before they agree to do buisness with them. The good reviews I believe are posted by S.F. There are more bad than good reviews and there are no average reviews. They are either very bad (real consumers) or Great (S.F.)

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!! THEY ARE A BUCNH OF CONS. they tell you they are giving you the freezer and grill but if you read the fine print they are selling you the freezer and grill and for 20 times the price you can buy from a homes good store. Also they say they 100% gaurntee the frozen and dry goods but they don't on nothing. If you run out of anything you just SOL go hungry for all they care. I suggest that you do like me and drop a lawsuit on their tails. And tell the attorney general so he can shut them down from ruining other peoples lives.

Another buyer beware story. Very misleading sales. Give you this wonderful impression while cooking a meal for you that you are only buying food. Well read the tiny print and ignore the salesperson. It's a scam. You are also buying a "commercial freezer" to the tune of about $4200. I wish I had listened to my instincts but the owner calls and acts like such a great guy, should have wondered why he tried to talk me into it. So sorry my husband signed. Don't make the same mistake. When you call to question the bill for freezer they have the pat answer "the paperwork is all in order" so they've heard it all before and are ready with that answer. Wish I had looked here first! Don't make the same mistake we did...

Let me start by saying the food was good. However, the sales person was very misleading and somewhat incompetent. If I could do it all over again I would not have signed up with this company. Everything is overpriced and found out at end of sales pitch that a freezer would be included in the cost. Long story, short. The food supply ran out before our 7 month contract and amount of "extras" besides the meat ran out within weeks and you end up going back to the regular grocery store and having to pay a monthly payment to them. We were told we would receive another shipment about 3 months in so we could make it the 7 months, but we were told that was it... now we're stuck paying them for no food and a empty freeze that I'm about to have them come and pick up. Beware of this company I feel they really got over on us!

Be careful of this company. We tried them and found they are not all their sales people say. Now after five months of food deliveries we are two months late on payments, and now their lawyers are trying to seize our home. I am out of work with no income, and no amount of discussion and attempts to resolve the issue, have helped. They are demanding over $10,000 dollars payment for five months of food deliveries to our family - strange contract. So much for customer service. Are they predatory sharks or food suppliers????

You would think when you buy a food and freezer plan from a company they would let you order the amount of food that your family needs. Not the case with this company. They want you to buy extra things from them -- things you may or may not want or need. When I placed my third food order with this company the manager cancelled it without the courtesy of a phone call. I later found out from my salesman that the manager said I didn't order enough groceries. I was never told that you had to order a certain amount of food but obviously you do. Consumers should know that this company charges high interest rates for a freezer you almost have to buy in order for your 8 months of food to be insured and protected for replacement. They finance it through their inhouse finance company Jefferson Financial and hold the insurance which they don't even know how to explain or how to apply when the time comes. Obviously they can cancel your meat order if they feel you aren't ordering what they want you to order without so much as a call. But I guess they still want you to pay for the freezer plan. How can a company tell you what and how much to buy when you have made previous food orders with them. I think this is their way of making you buy things you don't want or need from them in order to keep this service. This is supposed to be a quality company but if they continue to play these deceitful games with their customers, imagine what they might be doing with their food.
