Left After Being A Client For 10 Years
Dr. Harry Heiman is as nice as they get for being a doctor. I saw Dr. Heiman as my primary physician for 10 years from 1997-2007. I always felt I got quality care, but the service and value aspects lacked.
A couple years ago it started with their $25.00 paper fee they charge that isn't covered by insurance. I find this remarkably unwarranted since they just bought laptops for the doctors in an effort to go 'paperless'. So what is with a $25.00 paper fee? I think it's more like a laptop fee.
Next is the constant visits they want. I use one medical prescription on a routine basis, and they demand I come in for a checkup every few months and won't renew my prescription for more than six months even though I've been on it for almost three years safely. Most often it's a three month renewal, and it's a pain to go back to their office every three months.
Finally are the long waits. Every time I went for the past three times my wait was 45-60 minutes even though I had an appointment. The thing that infuriated me the most is when I confronted the doctor about this, he basically said "Well, I'm a doctor and that's part of my job. I can't guarantee that I'll see you within 30 minutes of your appointment time." No apology for the long waits, no reassurance that they might actually try to get better, just an arrogant "I'm a doctor, live with it." excuse.
Thumbs Down Dr. Heiman!
