Excellent location - horrible noise pollution!, 4/15/2015

Lived here a year. The location can't be beat, but, don't believe any other hype about this place. The apartment is far from luxury, though they are making improvements. My biggest complaint is... NOISE!! The landscapers will wake the dead. God help you if you work nights--you'll never get any sleep during the day. They are doing some renovations, so there's constant loud noise. Trucks arrive everyday (even without the renovations) that echo through the place. The buildings themselves must be made of cardboard - you will hear every single thing your neighbor does. My upstairs neighbors walk so hard they shake the dishes in their cabinets--that's primarily due to week construction or perhaps lack of insulation. Heating your apartment will cost a mint in the winter--it's as though air blows through windows! And then there's the utilities--straight robbery. You'll have to pay Conservice for lights, water, and CABLE TO COMCAST (who I hate and who you YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER SERVICE); THEN ON TOP OF THIS, you'll have to pay Georgia Power for electricity as well. The office management was fairly dishonest--I asked for a six month lease but they give me a year lease instead; the ADT people sold me a protection policy (which you don't need because it's a safe neighborhood) for 3 years when I was only planning to stay one year. In Jan 2015, management lost 20 people’s rent. Really?

New Management...Yuck., 5/21/2007

We signed a one year lease with Sloan Square in 2006 when DeeAngela and her other competent staff worked in and owned the place. We absolutely loved it there, we were treated fairly and like human... beings. The maintenance man was friendly and knowledgabe. All was great, and we were thinking of renewing another year. A few months back, a new management came in. Since then, we noticed some changes. Besides our friendly maintenance man quitting over salary issues, Sloan Square started to be run more like a business, and we felt less and less like human beings and more like clients. For one, Sloan Square doubled our water/sewer/trash bill, it may not seem like much but they essentially sought to double their own income stream from this new service provider. In addition they exerted an incredible amount of pressure on us to renew our lease. They offered us an increase in rent (ooo...really tempting!) and a 'cost of moving analysis' sheet detailing how much it would cost us to move out. How pathetic! The new agent also seemed to think we were gullible enough to sign a new 9-month lease while we were looking for a new place. I told them no thanks. The real kicker was all the advertising on our front lawn topped off by a man dressed as a huge stoplight trying to wave traffic down. Sloan Square has been bought out by demons, a ridiculous sales/marketing team that's concerned more with making the place a business than a comfortable home for its residents.
