ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT GO TO SMILECARE unless you want hard-sell tactics for unneeded services, poor explanations and communication regarding treatment that you do need (allegedly), unnecessary pain resulting from poorly done work, and hours of your time lost on the phone trying to get your billing straight with their corporate office (because the local office won't help). Examples of POOR CARE, UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, AND MISTREATMENT: 1. 50+ year-old dentist tries to push tooth whitening on me and berates me for not having white teeth (though they are in great shape)—then shows me his surreal, scary-looking, whitened teeth to try to convince me. 2. When they found deeper-than-normal gum pockets, the technician berated me for it (though I've always done an excellent job of caring for my teeth and have been told so consistently by dentists) and does not clearly explain possible causes and the course of treatment—even though I asked MANY questions from every possible angle. They push an expensive fluoride treatment product on me (I now use an equivalent one available at Walmart for a fraction of the cost) and give me INCORRECT USAGE INSTRUCTIONS. Any attempts I make to clarify the future course of treatment are met with berating and accusations that I don't want to do what's right for my teeth! I simply wanted to get clear and complete answers but they just COULD NOT COMMUNICATE CLEARLY ABOUT MY DENTAL TREATMENT. (continued in next review)

These people have their heads so far up their butts they can't see daylight. You know that scene in Cast Away where Tom Hanks pops out his abscessed tooth with an ice skate? That was better dental care. At least he didn't have to deal with a billing department when he came to. The ortho billing department is only open on Fridays, so if you have a problem with billing, it'll take at least a week to deal with it. Probably more. I bought a retainer and they kept thinking it was my wife's! Their inefficiency in billing is only overshadowed by their inability to complete simple tasks like transferring calls, taking an xray, or remember you had an appointment. Never ever go here. Ever.

Harassing sales tactics, impersonal service, and high quotes to Insurance Plan, made this a very unpleasant experience. The bite on my crown still doesn't feel right.
