Pretty Negative experience
Took a beginner lesson. The instructor didn't want to be there and it showed. He as not interested in me learning any basics or haveing a good time. Lesson did 't prepare me to even attempt to go down a begining run. The lesson was a waste of my time and money. Will try again at another resort.

Ski the Bird
You'll like Snowbird if you like what I call "finger tip skiing". Snowbird employed a novel concept when designing their resort. Basically the planners said, "lets make sure all our lifts go to the top of the mountain or appropriate ridge". For some reason unknown to me most other resorts stop their lifts mid-mountain. Hence at other resorts you have to traverse and hike to get to the best skiing (Alta has a massive telemark culture built around this). Of course you can do this at Snowbird but 99% of the time just get off the lift, point your skis downhill and you will be skiing some of the most challenging spectacular terrain you can imagine. Even when you have to traverse to get to some secret honey hole (there are more of these than any other resort) you are usually encountering great skiing along the way because the lift already took you to the top of the mountain. The other thing is all of Snowbird's run s follow the fall line. Again, go to other resorts (the Canyons and to a lesser extent Park City is the worst in this respect) and half the time they have carved their run s diagonally through a stand of trees. The run s actually function perpendicular to the direction gravity is pulling you. Its very annoying. Snowbird is at such an high altitude that you can happily ski acres and acres of open bowls. Also because the resort is mostly on private land they can mow down as many trees as they want. Most resorts in Utah are built in the national forest and have to cater to all the tree huggers if they want to cut down a tree or make a new run. The short story is you'll like Snowbird if you like hitting combo-air jumps, dropping all sizes of cliffs, carving big mountain bowls, banging moguls, suffocating in powder, squeezing through narrow chutes, slaloming trees, bombing 50 degree slopes, and skiing advanced terrain in general.

Snowbird is the greatest ski resort in the world
I've had the chance to ski Aspen, Vail, Breck, Big Bear, Lake Placid, Chili, Canada, Italy, and Switzerland and nothing can match what Snowbird has to offer. From extreme drop into bowls to intermediate and beginner, you can find it at Snowbird. The verticle is amazing. If you've ever dreamed of steep and deep then Snowbird is a screaming nightmare. The best skiier in the world you would find a big challenge at the Bird. The snow is light and crisp and the terrain is what ever you whant it to be. You can ski powder, bumps, crud, or just cruise to a great day. The surroundings and view from the lifts and on top of the tram are like a painting. The lodging is some of the best and the food is great. I definitely recommend Snowbird in my highest regard. Pure Bliss and a kick a_ _ time.

Deep Dry Powder Only Minutes Away!
Few places on earth offer 500+ inches of light dry powder 20 minutes away from big city services where it only snows occasionally. Tourists and residents do not have to contend with harsh winter conditions all winter like most other ski resort communities. It's the best of both worlds!

weather/season
Snowbird usually has the beat snow on Earth, like all resorts depends on the time of year & weather for any particular year. Prices best preseason ticket plan in Utah. Best/most days to ski, midweek when it's snowing, cloudy, foggy, or windy. Days like these occur frequently late winter/spring, no crowds, no waiting. Sheer bliss floating thru powder from top to bottom & tranverse.
