I went to this place for a spray tan today and paid $58.19 for their "darkest spray tan." There is absolutely no evidence of any tan plus they do a hard sale for the purchase of their products to... "extend" the tan. Due to my own stupidity I purchased one of the products not realizing that there would be no tan to "extend." Shame on this business. I would never go back. Surely, there are other spray tan business that are credible in the city of Atlanta! This one is not!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I won't go back and don't recommend them at all!

I'll be completely honest. I've read the reviews below, and they are all true. There are nice beds available. But you will be lost in the deceptive sales techniques, outragous price, hidden fees, and rediculous attitude of management. Despite what management says, there is no "bold" lettering regarding additional fees. The billing agreement actualy says "customer is responsible for all taxes and fees". This is your consent for them to bill you all of their hidden fees! You don't realize you have been billed a $50 fee until you get your credit card slip! And they offer no refunds or customer service. Beware, the positive feedback here is probabaly written by management!!!!!! They require between 30-60 days notice to cancel you membership (i.e. if you cancel on January 2nd, they continue to bill you through March 31st). This is a fact! There is absolutely no legitimate business reason for this. Check these guys out on Better Business Bureau (BBB.org). It's no secret they are crooks! Update: Not 5 minutes after this was posted, I got an email from David K. See below: Oh. My. God. We get it. Stop spamming us and next use a real card like American Express. You won't have to write long letters to the BBB or bother us with the same review posted over and over and over again.
The tanning beds are really nice... no question. However be very wary of what you sign; their sales tactics are misleading! Check their records on the Atlanta Better Business Bureau website. I wish I had before I went.
I recently purchased a membership and would have kicked myself had I not! These beds do exactly what the salesperson explained they would do. I am obsessed with the Sun Angel, which gives me a completely customized tan, as well! Not only are these beds impressive and are gentler on your skin, (they really don't EVER burn me! And I just listen to whatever their recommendations are on beds and times!), the experience with the people that work there has always been pleasant. They know me by full name and are always very helpful in trying to resolve any issues I may have. I have been to plenty of tanning salons, where the people did not know what they were talking about and their products were crap! Here, I do trust them, because I DO see the results and appreciate the wonderful customer service. I did see another former client's review about the confusion on billing. I'd have to say my experience was very different, because the girl who was there did make sure to print out a copy for me and go over it. I have already recommended to dozens of friends!
The tanning services here are great and they have tons of options. I have difficulty getting tan, and this place works for me. They are really friendly and I never have to wait long.
I signed up for 2 months of tanning and they failed to tell me that I had to send a "Certified" letter to cancel if I chose not to tan after that or they had the right to continue to charge my credit card. They have refused to refund my money to me ... this is terrible customer service. I won't go back and don't recommend them at all!

All membership rules are outlined in detail on membership sheets and in large font on the membership agreement that all clients sign. We hide nothing in fine print and believe 100% in full disclosure. We run our business and our membership programs with honesty, integrity, and straightforwardness. We even waived the 30 day notice to cancel for this client. It's unfortunate that we get blamed for the client's lack of communication with us but we will continue to do our best for everyone.
I've never been a regular visitor to tanning salons, and am VERY frugal with my money, but Solarium is one of the few places that I will spend the big bucks. It's totally worth it, although the prices don't allow me to go as often as I'd like to. The beds and bathroom are always clean and tidy, and the staff is friendly and seems knowledgeable (even if only superficially). Every now and then they'll have special discount weekends, which is when I usually try to buy product or packages. The only problem I've ever had was in regards to a product that I bought. I was advised by a staff member to purchase a certain item based on the tanning goals that I described to him, and the results were not at all what I asked for. When I tried to exchange it for a different product, I was told that they couldn't return anything. The best offer I got was a small discount on the item that I did want to purchase, but the other stuff just went to waste. On the plus side, the manager did let me borrow her face product once, which was very nice of her. Of course, they sell
I was looking for somewhere to tan close to my job and came across this salon and reviews. I give fair consideration of all reviews and even though there may be 1 or 2 bad reviews, generally will still find out for myself. However, based on the company response to the review, I would never go to this salon! If these customers felt as though they were being misled or did receive good customer service, the salong should respond negatively that "some peope" choose to do certain things...Perception is everything and if the client "perceived" to receive bad service or "perceived" to be misled, you would think the salon would just apologize and not criticize what the client has said....maybe the same person that "misled" the client and offered bad customer service is the same person that wrote the response to the reviews....I would never go anywhere that would bash their clients on such a public form.

alright heres the thing. i went here looking for a deep dark tan but a walk in is forty dollars! their business etiquette was horrible, just pushing and pushing and trying to sell. one girl told me that this is what they are paid to do. i was so turned off buy their techniques. they told me my lotion was bad when they were selling the exact same thing!
I had a great experience at Solarium. Lisa and Natalie both were of great help and were in no way pushy or inexperienced as the other reviewer suggests. I brought my own lotion, which they had no problem with. They listened to what I needed and found the best package for me. I am very satsified with the service I received and will continue to tan at Solarium Tanning!

I've been tanning for years and I know my skin type. Each time I've visited The Solarium, the staff is extremely overbearing on selling their product line of lotions. First of all, their product line is extremely expensive and I have found a lotion that's right for my skin type. I was told to "hurry up and use my lotion so that I could buy some of their product." I was also told that my lotion wasn't good enough and what I had was a waste of money. I'm really turned off by the high pressure "selling" techniques from the juvenile counter help. Also, I purchased a monthly tanning package only to find out that there's a one-time fee of $30 to start the package. I was told this after I turned over my credit card! This is really poor business and the entire experience is annoying -- I will not continue my membership.

We do our best to hire the most customer service oriented staff possible. We succeed 95% of the time and unfortunately, the lack of professionalism by one employee can poorly reflect on a great business that has been servicing clients for over 10 years. As for membership fees, nothing is ever hidden or concealed in fine print; in fact, everything is highlighted in bold letters on each price sheet and membership agreement that clients must read and sign. It's unfortunate that some choose to disregard these safeguards we put in place and then air their dissatisfaction in this forum. Lastly, we have lotions anywhere from the low end to the very high end, so we do have something for everyone here.

Solarium Midtown is the most elite and high quality, most professional tanning salon I've ever stepped foot in! The staff is so knowledgeable and I learn something new every time I come in. The salon is very classy looking and the beds are beyond top of the line. Definitely the best tanning salon in Atlanta!

even by midtown standards, this place is really expensive. after trying them out and spending more than i wish i had, i looked at another salon in the area and found their prices were must better. parking is also a bit of a pain at solarium midtown.
