Yes, price does matter when you can go down the street and get the exact same services for less. Boarding seemed like a great deal ($25/day), but ended up spending more than $100/day on unecessary tests and procedures. Very disappointed to feel pressured into spending since we were out of town. Dr. F made me feel like a bad pet owner for not spending $$$. Our favorite doctors no longer work there so don't see a reason to continue going back. Will take our pets to a doctor who cares more about my animals than my money.

We have been taking our dog to South Valley for years and have not had anything but wonderful service and great care. We have never felt "nickled-and dimed" like some reviewers state. In fact, our dog went in for an x-ray since he ate bottle caps and wooden skewers. Doc found something abnormal on the x-ray and had a radiologist look at it. They never pressured us for more services or tacked on other pricey services. We always were in control of our pet's care. Now that our dog has cancer, Doc told us to stop worrying about our routine shots and vaccinations since we are battling something more serious. If he were all about money, he would have charged us for those routine shots anyway. Any time we have called at 7 AM about our sick dog, the office has always made room in the schedule to immediately see us and care for us. We have always had all services explained in full, and made all decisions ourselves based on Doc's recommendations. I have never felt taken advantage of; in fact, I feel love, kindness, professionalism, and wise care each time we go there.

Pricey but it doesn't matter - and South Valley knows this and probably why they charge the prices they do - get over it, its clean and good service. This was the first time I had to board my two dogs and I had been recommended by a friend to take them to South Valley. Overall the experience with South Valley was good. My dogs would go in a run together so that saved me some money but they had to have tests done to make sure they were healthy, those tests cost more than the boarding! Recommend you get the tests done before you board them - call and make sure you know what is needed - and have your regular vet do it. Also, take your dogs own bed so they feel more like home, I didn't and I wish now that I had - this doesn't cost extra - but if you want your dog to eat their own food during their stay that will cost you! So overall good service but of course good service comes with a price tag, take your dogs (animals) here because you want good service and clean facility and don't be concerned with the price!

My brothers cat was nearly dying from an injury to his leg. The vet was so concerned for the cats well being that he stayed overnight to make sure that the cat made it. Thanks to them my brother's cat is alive and well. With service like that I know all my animals are in great hands.
