Southern Orthopedic Specialists

I’m a retired army officer and use Tri-Care Prime as my health insurance. During the 9 years since my retirement from the military, I’ve never been turn away from any healthcare provider until today.
After being referred to Southern Orthopedic Specialists by my primary healthcare provider; I went there to set up an appointment. When I arrived I was asked for my insurance card where I promptly gave it to the receptionist. The reaction I received from the receptionist was an arrogant smirk and the reply, “we don’t take Tri-Care Prime”.
With a waiting room full of people looking at me like I was an idiot or second class citizen, I left. I called my primary healthcare provider and told then of my experience. Not to my surprise, they were shocked. They promptly referred me to another Orthopedic Specialists in the Fayetteville area where I made an appointment.
It’s good to know that there are some healthcare providers that support our military. Unfortunately, there are some that do not. Today I found one that doesn’t.
