StarCity Moving

A coworker of mine highly recommended StarCity to me. She is a super meticulous and reliable person, so I figured if they were able to impress her it was worth giving them a shot. She had used Starcity twice for a move within NJ and NJ to Manhattan.So, it was time for my parent's move and these guys did not dissappoint. It was super easy to schedule the appointment. They were on-time, fast and very professional. They did not try to bump up the cost by using special materials, but they did use their own tape, blankets, bubble-wrap, etc - and did so quickly and meticulously. There was a TON of heavy furniture as well as some stairs involved in the new house and they did it effortlessly. I'm not sure how, but these guys were not huge body-builders yet incredibly strong with great technique. Even my husband was so impressed by how much each of them could carry on their own. Their rates were very reasonable and they did not ask for a tip - I think that should be a given - just my 2 cents. We did tip and feed them (which they took to-go - we ran a little over on time, so I was certain they were starving by the end). I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

On February,13,2012, I moved from one neighborhood to the next in Jersey City using their service. These guys were not only fulfilled the rules of the agreement we had, they also lost few pieces of my furniture and my belongings, to be exact : 1 LG Blue-Ray player, the door of my china cabinet, and few colognes. In our agreement they were supposed to carry all my furniture and my belongings. Since I wasn't able to assist them personally because of my job, they basically moved whatever they find convenient for them to move and they left half of my stuff needed to be moved behind. I was charged for this move $625. After they finished their job, I had to spend at least another $500 to carry the remaining belongings of mine. Although in our agreement there was no time limit, they finished everything in 3 hours, since they left without completing the job. After they finished moving from old apartment to the new one once my partner who was present then realized the pieces were missing, and he asked the movers, where were the missing parts, their answer was "they might be in the old apartment, forgotten " and following that my partner tells them" let's go get them" their response was that they had to go to another job. That actually shows that they were trying to hide their theft and dishonesty. So basically these guys are thieves, and liars. I tried several times to contact the owner Dean Laster, I was able to get a hold on once,and he was extremely rude and nasty and he was supposed to follow up, and I never heard from him again....

These guys are a pleasure to work with. Hassle and stress free, no unnecessary back and forth. Call, get a quote, set up the moving day/time, get a confirmation call the day before, and voila! Rolando, Ruffino and Rigo showed up on time and got straight to work. Not only that, they were very nice and friendly (I dont know that'd I'd be the same way if i was moving couches/piano/etc.). They made sure to ask a lot of questions up front while packing up to ensure it was done properly, then did the same on the flip side to ensure they unloaded everything to the most convenient spot for us. Remember to offer them something to drink - it's a lot of hours to be moving and sweatingthey'll appreciate the refreshment. I'd absolutely recommend calling StarCity, and see if you can get Rolando, Ruffino and Rigo!...

Moving from a 3rd floor apartment in Hoboken to another 3rd floor walkup in Jersey City Heights, 20 mins away with no elevator sucks. But not as much when you have guys to move all your stuff for you! They were right on time and super efficient about keeping up a good pace. They used all their own blankets for furniture and nothing was damaged in the process. I had all my own boxes packed before the move and piled in my living room. They had good communication over the phone before the move, gave me a quote by email, and were professional upon completion. Would use them to move me again.

Let's face it. Moving totally sucks. It's even worse when you have lived in a place for seven years. Thinking about moving when you've gotten used to a place isn't always too pleasant.I called around to several places, and to be honest, Starcity got back to me first and they were so nice and helpful I decided to go with them. So glad I did.First off, they guys came right on time and were super nice from the get go. They took so much care with all my things and even packed up things for me that I hadn't gotten to yet. They did it all with a smile and with care. When they got to our new place, we could all see that getting the box spring upstairs would be a major challenge. They did not give up and got it up without one scratch to the floors, walls or anything. They moved all my things without any damage to anything. They were extremely thorough and helpful throughout the whole process. There is no way in hell I am moving again for a long time, but for anyone who is I completely recommend Starcity Moving Company.
