Best vets in the city, 12/05/2010

I am so grateful to a co-worker who referred me to East Atlanta Animal Clinic when I got my chocolate lab puppy. It was easy to get an appointment and the vets and staff were professional, friendly,... and knowledgeable. Everyone I have met there clearly truly loves animals. About 6 weeks ago, my puppy became very ill. Dr. Ringstrom, in particular, went above and beyond to take extremely good care of him and was available any time I had a question. Thanks to her and the rest of the staff at EAAC, he seems to be fully recovered from what could have been a fatal illness. I wouldn't dream of taking him anywhere else!

I trust them with my dog, 7/14/2010

I have always had good experiences here. They don't give me a hard time about buying my flea and heart worm treatments online, and they have not pressured me into aggressive treatments like Banfield... always did.

Great experiences with almost every medical problem that you can imagine

I have been going to EAAC and have had nothing but good experiences. Our cats & dogs have had a wide variety of complex medical issues (cancer, spinal problems, anemia, kidney disease, digestive problems, you name it!) and they have always diagnosed carefully and thoroughly. They start simply and work their way up to more complex diagnoses--they test appropriately, but not excessively. They also recognize that they are general practitioners and sometimes need to refer to a specialist. Dr. Ringstrom has also recently been certified in vet acupuncture, so that brings a nice holistic element to the practice. Dr. Ringstrom and Dr. Dunnings are excellent--I'm neutral on Dr. Starnes. Their techs are very professional, though sometimes there is turnover in the tech and front office staff. The ""veterans"" are terrific. Parking can be a pain with an animal, but it is a minor inconvenience for the value and care. The only thing that they have not been able to provide is ultrasound services. That would certainly be an added benefit so as not to have to travel to a specialist. However, though are not needed frequently, so it's only an inconvenience if you happen to have the collection of adopted older animals that I have. Overall, it's a great asset to pet owners and the community.

Their haste caused the untimely death of my dog

we brought our 7 year old dog in for her routine shots on a Friday afternoon. before the doctor did anything, we pointed out a few nodules on her front leg. the doctor said that it may be cancerous mast cell tumors but she will biopsy to be sure. she took a scrape of the nodules, and then continued with her exam where she vaccinated our dog and sent us home. the next day, our sweet girl was lethargic. by sunday - 48 hours later - she could hardly walk and wouldnt eat. i brought her back to EAAC first thing Monday morning where they kept her to give her fluids and x-ray her. at the end of the day, i returned to pick her up and the doctor gave me her x-rays and simply said that if she gets worse, take her to the emergency vet up on Ashford Dunwoody. No one helped me carry my 70 pound dog across the street to my car. By the time I made it home and my poor girl colapsed on the ground, I loaded her up and drove like a mad person to the emergency vet. they wheeled her in on a gurney and within 5 minutes she crashed and they tried to revive her to no avail. when we showed the vet the x-rays that EAAC took that afternoon, the doctor said that her whole body was filled with cancer and that she NEVER should have been vaccinated without running the tests first to determine what her nodules were. he said that introducing the vaccine made her immune system attack that foreign substance further weakening her ability to fight the cancer. granted, she would have passed away within the year but to the haste of EAAC forced us to lose her before she was really ready to stop fighting. the card that EAAC sent us with condolences was like a knife in the heart. we never went back with our other dog, and when we got him a new companion - she never set a paw in that place.

Best vets in Atlanta

Both of the vets at East Atlanta Animal Clinic are wondeful. My dogs are primarily seen by Dr. Dunnings because we have been going to her for years, even before she opened this clinic . I can't say enough about Andrea, she is an awesome vet, caring and gentle. She is, and has always been, so wonderful with our dogs as well as patient and understanding with us. She always explains every single thing down to the last detail in a way that makesit possible for the average pet owner to understand. Both of our dogs absolutey love her and no matter what procedure has to be done as long as she's doing it they're fine with it. The staff at the clinic is absolutely wonderful and help make the whole experience of a trip to the vet a good one for our dogs. I have and will continue to highly recommend EAAC to anyone looking for a vet.

Super docs for your furry ones!

Moved to Kirkwood about 5 years ago and was then going to Banfield at PetSmart in Midtown. After multiple fiascos at that place, I decided to find a new veterinarian for my pets: ala EAAC! I cannot express how delighted I was and have been since my first appointment there with my dog, Dega. Now Dega, Dover and Indy all go to EAAC. They love Dr. Ringstrom and the folks there. Very friendly, very attentive, very caring: just perfect!

GREAT vets!

Dr. Dunnings and Dr. Ringstom are wonderful. I have been using them for over two years for our Ridgeback and Sheperd mix. The Ridgeback recently had a broken leg, and they made the process of getting through it as easy as possible. After he ate the cast off FIVE TIMES, they always fit us in quickly for a replacement. They treat our animals with love and care, and are the only vets who can handle the Sheperd mix without her going completely crazy. Yes, they are egtting more popular and busy, but definitely worth it!

Dr Dunnings Rocks!

I adopted a dog that had previously been abosed and left chained outside for most of his life. He had been fought and most likely used as bait but it didn't take Dr. Doolittle to realize he was a lover not a fighter. Dr. Dunnings and her staff have been absolutely wonderful with him and he absolutely adores all of them. I've never had a dog that was actually excited to go to the vet! He spent over a year battling severe Heartworm Disease & he'd be dead long ago if not for the staff of E. Atl Animal Clinic. He's been Heartworm free for two years and is happier and healthier than ever. Thank you Dr. Dunnings! We love you!

Nice neighborhood business

I have had very good luck with this clinic. I took a stray dog that adopted me and the clinic gave (and continues to give) a ""good samaritan"" discount for her care. The clinic also honors low cost spay/neuter certificates. Dr. Dunnings seems very supportive and interested in animal issues, which is a positive for me. She is also very thorough in explaining the care and treatment options. I feel lucky she is so close, since I would go a certain distance to get good veterinary care for my pets.

Great Neighborhood Vet

So far we have had great experiences with this vet's office. Also every time I call with questions, they are very patient which isn't the case when you call other vets. It is very popular, so getting a fast appointment can be difficult. I compared prices with other nearby vets and theirs are very competitive too.
