Stein Bruce MD PC

Sat in the office for two hours for a routine follow up only to be told that I didn't need to see the doctor to begin with. Of course this is after I asked two separate people why I even needed to see him based on what I was told on the prior visit. The staff just moves you from room to room and when you finally see Dr. Stein, he gives you a total of 5 minutes and his bedside manner is terrible. He also thought he was being funny by saying "I wish I could give you some viagra or something for making you wait". I guess his way of saying sorry is with sarcastic humor. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING DR. STEIN, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! You will thank me.

I am referencing my experience with Dr Stein during 2008 when I was a patient of his diagnosed with an acute BPH problem. He left nothing to be desired. He is exploratory at best and leaves you worst than you were before you saw him. He is very disrespectful of people in general and will use you as guinea pig. I had finally leave Bruce Stein to get corrective surgury by another Dr to correct what Bruce Stein Screwed up. Luckily, the Dr. was able to correct my condition and I am normal again.

On first impression, this Dr. acts very knowledgeable, butfter a year of two surgeries, and being a Guinea pig, I am left worst than when I went in for simple kidney stoneswas talked into aother surgery, and then a corrective surgery, then meds, than a procedure that he wanted to strat doing.All the while I was obstructed from the surgeries. Even when it was confirmed that I was obstructed, I went two more months waiting for Dr. Stein to ocnsult in his peers in how to manage my complications. I have a new Urologist who indeed is trained and educated, and willnot leave me in pain, use me as a guinea pig for the purpose of money from insurance, and ignores me when my medical conditions stems further complications with other organs and medical complications. DO NOT go to this Dr. He took and oath to heal, only to harm. I will live having to self catherize for the rst of my life and a rheumatioid condition from physical stress to my body living in pain that went unaddressed for months on end. And to think I went in for kidney stones....

I've been to Dr. Stein's office twice, and have yet to see him. The first time the appointment was made for me and I only had about 45 minutes from when I arrived before I had to go. I told the person at the desk, and she said "they'd try" to get to me in time, but she didn't bother to let anyone know about my time constraint because when I got called back, the nurse had no idea and said the doctor wouldn't be able to see me in time.

The second time, I had a 9:30am appointment, and when I walked in there were 20 people waiting. Apparently Dr. Stein makes dozens of appointments at the same time, and then is just content to let people wait for hours until he's ready to see them. Talk about inconsiderate. I waited 15 minutes, then 30.. 45.. an hour.. an hour and 15 minutes.. then an HOUR AND A HALF. I got tired of waiting so I told the receptionist to cancel my appointment and left.

This kind of disregard for appointment times is a big problem in the medical industry, but this was the worst I've ever seen. It shows disrespect for the patient and the patient's time, and by the sheer quantity of people waiting on Dr. Stein, this is how he runs his business.

Oh, and if you do finally get to see him, know that returning patients get put off for months while new patients get seen in a few days. I've been seeing more of this lately as well, which is incredibly rude. An established patient should not be bumped for new patients.

Although the doctor seemed knowledgeable, especially for my procedure, he has the personality and bedside manner of a pile of bricks. I think it's his NY attitude which hasn't softened or at least adjusted to the ways of the South. I was in a waiting room one day and he was recording notes onto a digital recorder. Funny thing is, he actually had a better personality talking into the recorder. He spoke with life, vocal interest and a twinkle of personality. Get him away from the recorder and he speaks or mumbles in this monotone voice that's almost indecipherable at times. He can be a nice guy (I think) if he just tried. Now let's talk about the rude thugs he has working for him at the front desk. You would think a man of this much experience could make a better choice of who he wants representing him at the front lines of his business. And G forbid you knock on the window to let the "pleasant" staff know you're there for an appointment. They actually have a piece of paper next to that window that tells you NOT to knock. What the H is that! I wonder if the Doctor has even seen this? Or, is he too busy seeing the conga line of patients that his staff gladly overbooks. I'm guessing they book 4-6 patients per hour. It's all about the money I guess.
