I brought a '74 FLH to this shop on 9/20/11, with a bent pushrod, and my instructions were "make it rideable." I gave him $300 in advance. Over the weeks, when I asked about progress, he would only say, "I ordered the parts." Finally, I picked the bike up on 11/2/11. It hadn't even been looked at. Parts had never arrived from Custom Chrome. Pushrods? Really? Stett dashed out on an errand as soon as he saw my face. He did say, "Hey, I'm not running a storage facility!" before he left. I have the original invoice, which says nothing about storing it for a couple months. My hopes had been for a timely repair. His employee did release the bike back to me. On 11/3/11, I attempted to retrieve my $300. His employee informed me Stett had just run down the street (El Cajon Harley is down the street) and would be right back. I went down to Stett's, and, lo and behold, the pushrods had arrived! Scratched, used, out of package, and no receipt. Funny, because when I worked in internet parts sales, CCI always sent pushrods vacuum-packed, and within a few days. . He sold me the rods for $130, and said I had to take the rest of my $300 in store credit, no cash back. Nothing there I could really use, but I picked a few over-priced trinkets and still was stuck with $60 store credit. I'll donate that as a raffle prize, because I'll never deal with that unprincipled, pompous, repugnant person again! Worst shop experience ever!
