Recently brought my new puppy in for shots and grooming. The staff was very gentle with her and the groomer explained to me what to do at home to keep tangles out. They were very helpful and recommended what food and toys to give her.

Dr. Ricky & his staff have worked very dilligently in diagnosis & treatment of our dog. Referrals were made when necessary. He's very patient with questions and multiple phone calls. Even called me on a Sunday to see how our boy was doing. He & the staff have gone the extra mile for us.

My puppy was very sick, she had parvo. I called many places trying to get help for her and I was turned away. Sugarloaf asked us to come in immediately, they were very caring, knowledgeable, and attentive. They gave us a range of options for the puppy and called everyday to check on her status.
I would like to say Thank you soooooo much for all the help!

Sugarloaf Animal Hospital isn't bad for routine visits and shots. It's very clean and modern, but for anything major - injuries and illnesses - I learned the hard way to ASK FOR AN ESTIMATE before letting them do any work. My cat went in for an infected leg and came home 2 days later with his feces on all four paws and tail and covered in his own urine. (MALE cat urine!!) I had to give him a bath in the sink and have his "love scars" on my arm to prove it. His leg is better but I got a $435 bill and a smelly cat back. For that price, my cat was returned in filthy condition. I felt like I got hosed and when I called and asked for an explanation, sorry, out of luck. If you're concerned about cost, ask for the estimate and then keep close tabs on what charges are being applied. If they just say, "he's fine," be sure to dig a little deeper and find out what's been done and what each item costs. Thanks!

After just moving to the area, I took my dog in a for a regular visit in case I needed to bring her in for an emergency, etc. I just wanted to establish a relationship with the vet and the office. While the vet was OK, very clinical personality, the front desk was just down right rude. I called a couple of days later to see if I could get a refill of a prescription for my dog (I had brought in the prescription during my original visit) and the front desk informed me that they are not a pharmacy and would not help me. I was not given a chance to explain that they had the prescription already before she hung up on me. I am sorry she was having a bad day, but it was not my doing.

Fortunately I found another vet in the area that wanted to help. I will not return here.
