Won't go there again, 6/20/2007

My spouse was recently admitted to this hospital through the ER. The ER staff were wonderful, however, MRI Techs and Nurses in 1 East were the pits. MRI Tech was pissed off that my spouse had a... claustrophobic reaction during an MRI. The tech actually reprimanded my spouse for wasting her time. Never having had an MRI my spouse had no idea what to expect. The day shift nurse in 1 East responded to every single solitary patient request with "in a minute, I'm busy right now". She took at minimum 2 hours to respond to patients, 4 hours for my spouse's request that the IV was painful. She had 5 patients to care for and wasn't able to provide care for any one of them in a timely manner. This fool couldn't even start an IV by herself. She was unaware that patients hadn't eaten, needed assistance to go to the bathroom, or required pain meds. I was in this section of the hospital for 7 hours and witnessed her treatment of the patients. Her discharge instructions were not clear and she was snotty when questioned. Once again the ER folks were great, but God help you if you are admitted.
