I have had Interstitial Cystitis for about 15 years. I used to have to have cystoscopies performed at Henry General Hosp or Southern Regional. This meant longer time needed to register, a pre-surgery day to go to the hospital for blood work and xrays, and a long time in Recovery. Usually that meant about 2 hours the day before the surgery, and about 6 hours in the Outpatient Center. This also meant more exposure to Hospital Staph infections. Since the Surgery Center was built, I usually only spend about 2 to 3 hours, before I can go home and rest. The Center is quick, efficient, kind, and thorough. I hope I never need to see it again, but that's because I don't want to have surgery again! But if I do, it will be here, and with Dr Folgosa as my Surgeon.
