My cake class with Chef Sharie was a terrible experience. Chef Sharie is a bully and she and her bakery are incredibly unclean. She was incredibly mean towards another class attendee and we were literally afraid to speak, move our spatula wrong, hold our bags wrong, or do anything that would set her off. We have named her "The Cake Beast" because she was such a terribly mean person. She is impatient and yelled at us multiple times. Her bakery was unclean and she actually commented to the other participant that I used too much of her water washing my hands. Never once did she instruct any attendee to wash their hands and I never once saw her wash her hands even after licking the batter off her fingers or wiping the sweat off her face. I would never recommend her class and I would never eat her cake.

Sweet Dreams Bakery School has had hundreds of local and international students that come back repeatedly to advance in their cake decorating and sugar arts careers by taking more classes. SDBS meets all Georgia laws and requirements to operate a retail bakery. They also perform periodic inspections and we have never failed any of them to date. Chef Sharie has been recognized by her peers as an owner, designer, educator and well known cake competition judge. We expect mature adults to take our classes, be receptive to both verbal & written instructions and pay attention to what is being presented.
I emailed this bakery to set up a consultation, and they took over a week to respond. When they finally did email me back, the quote they gave me was 50% higher than every other high-rated baker I'd met with. I told them that I was disappointed with the response time and the high quote, and Sharie sent back the following: "My prices are absolutely in line with ALL of the bakers in this area. But if you can find someone to make a fabulous wedding cake for you for the Ďabsurd' budget you noted, best of luck to you." I was shocked at this incredibly rude and unprofessional attitude, and would not do business with this woman under any circumstances. I'm sorry, but in this economy, you can't afford to be overpriced AND rude!

HORRIBLE CLASS INSTRUCTOR.Have to LEARN how to talk to students and student's parents.Needs to be MORE PATIENT and LESS RUDE. Whether that person did not remember or did not catch on right at the beginning. You still have to be PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING as a teacher.Especially and I repeat especially, if it's their first time baking from scratch. Coach them through it WITH PATIENCE NOT FRUSTRATION ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU ARE GETTING PAID FOR IT. ATTENTION TO MRS SHARIE: ANY REBUTTAL THAT YOU MAY HAVE TO THIS REVIEW DOES NOT JUSTIFY HOW RUDE AND IMPATIENT YOU WERE TO MY MOTHER AND I ON MY FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Anyone searching for a Cake Decorating Class check at your local Michael's or Hobby LOBBY, because they do offer Wilton's Cake Decorating Classes also and most likely is cheaper. WORK WITH MORE EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS.WHO IS NICE AND PATIENT TOO. This is a response to Sharie's reply. If I was reading the recipe it was to keep up with what you were doing. So when it was time for me to do my example I would nt get yell at by you. You say that was taking how could I have been talking it was only two students in your class(that was that girl and me)and your husband and that girl realize how rude you were treating me,because your husband was even looking weird like he wanted to say something. The girl(the other student outside of myself) rolled her eyes and shook her head.Even with all that yelling I still treated you with respect.

I used Sweet Dreams for our wedding cake when they first moved to Georgia and had just opened. The customer service was impeccable from the initial cake tasting to the final delivery on my wedding day. Everyone loved our cake's flavor and it was absolutely beautiful. Since then, I've used Shari and Steve for many family birthday cakes- one as recently as last week for my mother. Shari went above and beyond. Everyone once again loved the cake itself and the decorations were amazing. I highly recommend Sweet Dreams for ANY occasion. So would many of my friends and family who have used Sweet Dreams since our wedding in 06. Shari and Steve treat you like family, which is hard to come by when you're talking vendors for weddings! Just book them already.

Sweet Dreams Bakery did a wonderful job on two separate occasions designing and delivering a wonderful birthday cake. They are passionate about their business and offered excellent service. Every adult at our son's party agreed that the Sweet Dreams cake was the best they ever tasted. My son was over the moon with their cake design. Very creative, delicious to eat and affordable. We will work with this bakery again.

This wedding cake was the best tasting cake I have ever had...but the main lady treated me horrible. She overcharged my card for the amount American Express charges them to run my card, and when I said something to her she expected me to pay for it without her ever saying anything before she ran it. Ummm...I think NOT!! One day I went there after I was already committed to their place for my wedding cake, she came out from the back room with a spatula in her mouth, licking it in front of me. Ewwww. (Unprofessional) The cake is good but sometimes it is not worth being worried that something will go wrong with your cake when you have so much else to worry about. Good luck if you decide to go with this company. Remember she can be really mean if you say the wrong thing.

Customer was advised up front that we did not accept American Express. She did not have her credit cards with her the day she ordered her wedding cake but gave us a credit card number to use. When we received our merchant statement it had additional fees from that charge. We tried to contact her leaving voice mails asking her to give us a call or we would charge her card for the additional fees. She apparently changed her contact number but did not tell us so she did not get the messages. After receiving a call from her about an additional charge to her card, we promptly refunded the overcharge to her sister when she came by with a ribbon swatch.
The cake was delivered on time and intact. Later the customer tried to get a refund from her credit card company stating that her wedding cake was delivered upside down. Her claim was denied when we provided onsite photographs showing the wedding cake delivered intact.
So, she would use what should be the happiest time of her life, trying to get a refund for her wedding cake when she admitted she enjoyed it.
