That was the title my hubby gave her before ever having met her and barely knowing what a doula was! I am so very glad that God put Talitha in my path at a time of uncertainty b/c of many hospital politics with my "case". IMO, I had the best doc in town but still wanted someone in my corner to help me "deal with" hospital staff during labor. I had special circumstances and Talitha never batted an eye, she just kept telling me to trust my body. It knows what to do. You see, this last birth was my 9th and I had never really gone "one my own" - always being induced with pit. So I did not know what to expect with a "normal" labor. My husband and I are SO VERY THANKFUL that Talitha was with us to the very end! If she didn't ride with us IN our vehicle I'd have been in the news, "mom delivers baby at applebees" LOL! She was kind, gentle, knowledgeable and always ready to do whatever *I* wanted. She had helpful advice the weeks leading up to that night - she was always available for my questions or to just give me encouragement. I highly recommend my friend, Talitha, if you're considering a doula.

Without Talitha's support throughout my pregnancy, labor and delivery, I am certain that I would not have had the right perspective and clarity to allow my body to do what it was able to do - have my son naturally. My previous two births were medicated and complicated. Talitha's support - being available at ANY time for questions throughout my pregnancy, being a real coach when I needed clarity and refocus, were probably the single most profound influence on my ability to follow through on my commitment to myself and my baby. In my previous pregnancy, I called my midwife with all my questions. In this last pregnancy, I called Talitha. She set me straight and kept me focused, and held my hands while I leaned over the bed and delivered my beautiful son! We laugh about how hard I squeezed her hands... She is a true friend, support, and born to be a doula. You NEED her, you just don't know it yet. Try giving birth without her, and you'll think twice next time! Thank God for Talitha!

Talitha was INVALUABLE for the birth of my third child, born via VBAC. I love how she worked personally with me ahead of time to know what my goals were and see how we might best work together. I appreciated what I call her "bag of tricks" - aromatherapy, energy drinks, lighting(to use instead of bright overhead lights), etc. Her emotional support (positive comments, hugs when needed, just nodding her head in understanding) was amazing. And she stayed so even keeled and a ROCK for me even when I got a little crazy. I was amazed at Talitha's physical work. She massaged my ankles, hands, back, applied HARD counterpressure that I wanted, etc. I will never forget talking to my mom after the birth and she said one time when I was in the restroom for a while, Talitha was using the rolling pin on her own back and arms. Of course she of course didn't say a word to me, but hearing it after the fact, it really highlighted that Talitha gave her ALL to me. I really believe Talitha puts her heart and soul into the well-being of her mamas and babies and will not let you down. Talitha is someone who will not only go the second mile, she will run and not walk it. If I have any more children, I will hire her as soon as I get the positive pregnancy test!

First off I'd like to say, that I am a doula. Even a doula can benefit from having a doula. It really doesn't matter who you are, Talitha is invaluable. Her support was amazing during the birth of my third child. When I wasn't able to have a water birth for medical reasons, Talitha was ready to help me improvise and keep my wits about myself. She has a great perspective whenever I need advise on anything pregnancy or birth related. I am glad to call her my doula and my friend.

My husband is an internal medicine doctor and at first was very skeptical of paying for doula services. I knew I needed Talitha because of the lack of support, knowledge, and medical intervention women have these days. After our first meeting with Talitha, my husband was sold. On the day of my labor and delivery, she was the most helpful in helping me get through. Hiring Talitha is worth every penny! Just meet with her and talk if your are unsure. I feel blessed to know her and excited to have her for future births!

I can't say enough about Talitha and her knowledge as a doula. She was extremely helpful in guiding me and giving me information on preparing for my first unmedicated birth (after three previously medicated births). My labor went very quickly and while Talitha was only there for about five minutes before the delivery, I couldn't have made it those last few minutes and post-delivery without her help. Talitha's assistance was invaluable and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a natural birth!

As a Dad, Talitha made our birth experience unforgettable. She was so caring for my wife and really made her calm, focused and relaxed. She was very encouraging. Talitha is respectful of a family's wishes and she never tries to influence decisions. But she is also very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. I recommend her to everyone without reservation!
Talitha assisted with my third, and only non-medicated birth. While she was only at my bed-side for about an hour of labor, her assistance during my 3 weeks post due date was INVALUABLE. She helped me keep my resolve to not be induced, gave me options, and helped talk me through discussions with my midwife. While I ended up being induced on the 21st day postdue, I went into labor easily and delivered my baby standing up. Talitha was the one that yelled, "Head!". She is great at her chosen profession.
I was a VBA2C mom who had never gone into labor on my own, Talitha set my expectations for what I would be going thru. She is a sister and mother doula all tied into one and she knew when to be in the front pushing and cheering and when to let me go on my own. Her phone was always available for me to call. Her massaging techniques, her soft voice and her cool hands (to me) were a g-dsend during labor as they kept me calm and focused.
Talitha is an amazing doula. It's so hard for me to keep this brief because of just how incredible she is and what her support (physically, emotionally, and psychologically) meant for my husband and I throughout our pregnancy and natural VBA2C delivery. During my pregnancy she was always available to discuss even my most crazy concern and comfort me. During labor she arrived at our house and literally cut my pain in half with her techniques. She was our rock, adviser, teacher, older sister at times, motherly at others, advocate, and friend and this all came out even more at the hospital. She reassured me, encouraged me, and challenged me to push myself even more when I needed her to. She was always there wiping my brow, helping hubby to be as involved as possible and helping us make the most of our birth. I definitely recommend her to everyone and plan to have her at all my future deliveries!
She was amazing! I could not have had my labor go any better. She made it possible for me to have the labor I wanted. She used the hip pressure method and pressing down on my tailbone. Very supportive and encouraging. She made me feel like I could keep on going through the pain and helped me have my 10 lbs 6 oz. baby without drugs! I couldn't have done it without her. She helped me seek out a physician that had the same view of labor that I do and encouraged me to do what was best for me and my baby. I will be using her whenever I have another baby and I recommend her to everyone. She had great knowledge of the situation and had a very strong calming presence. I felt very secure in the situation because of her knowledge and encouragement.
