I wanted a portrait style sepia tone photograph of my daughter. This was to be a very special picture for me as my daughter would be visiting me on a short military furlough from Iraq. I selected Tanner Photography because of the friendly New Zealand woman with whom I initially spoke on the telephone. I did not feel rushed and she seemed to not only understand my objective, but also appreciated it. My experience at the studio was a totally different story. The studio exuded an aura of amateur anthropologists stuck inside a poor retro representation of the cosmopolitan modeling empire. Nonetheless, at my initial meeting, the frame was measured and I paid the posh sitting fees for a photo shoot that took no more than five minutes so the photographer assured me that there would be no "touch-ups" fees. By contrast, most of the local agencies I contacted have minimal sitting fees that include digital retouching; a 30 minute session with a vast number of persons and poses; and unlimited clothes and/or prop changes. Although I am happy with the portrait that now hangs on my wall, this photograph quickly became an expensive emotional endeavor that took almost six months to obtain. So if you have plenty of money and enjoy working with a company boasting a roller-coaster business model where time has no meaning and brazen narcissism is the norm, then Tanner is certainly the studio for you. There, you will also be able to discover frustration levels you never before knew.

I have been using Tanner Photography for my kids pictures for years and they have always been wonderful. I started with their Family Fundraiser, then started doing private sittings with them. The prices for the fundraiser are perfect for families who can't always afford pictures of their kids, when you come into the studio you can get the same package they offer at the school for a lot more, so it is a really great deal. It is a quick easy session and a small donation goes to your school and you get a FREE 11x14! That is great. You have the option to purchase more pictures or holiday cards. I am not made of money at all, but I know good quality work when I see it, and the holiday cards are so worth the money! Private sittings in their studio are great, if you want a more personal session, the fundraiser is a taste of what they can do. In the studio you get background changes and outfit changes. Their staff is amazing and they are always friendly and helpful and I will continue to use Tanner Photography and recommended them to everyone I know!

Buyer beware! We got "hooked" via a school fundraiser promo. Now, that in and of itself IS a steal of a deal...you get ONE 11x14 for $15. Not bad, eh? That said, who ever goes thru the effort to get kids dressed and smiley for just ONE picture to take home?! No one I know, that's for sure. This is were their true colors are shown in their pricing model...which happens to be ri-di-cu-lous. ONE sheet is only a mere $30. Seriously?! We wanted to get Christmas cards and you cannot buy them unless you buy TWO sheets for $60. Add an additional $15 for a processing fee. Now if I were going there for head shots/modeling pics that is one thing but for normal family/kid shots that you have zero control in picking/editing the pricing is over the top. For us to get the cards, it was going to cost us $175!!! No thank you! If I am going to pay that I better darn well have control over shots printed and how they are edited. You get way better service and value at Portrait Innovations (which I made my appt today!). Lest I forget to mention, our photog said no less than 50x to my 7,5,&4 yr olds..."mommy eats poopie, sister eats poopie, mommie stinks, eating poopies is fun". Are you flippin' kidding me?! I've NEVER had a photog say such disgusting things to my children. Beyond rude. Thank you, I will take my hard earned dollars somewhere else.

I first went to this studio to have my daughter's head-shots done, which came out beautiful. While I was there I realized that they do faboulous family portraits, weddings, bands, etc. Since I had been searching on the Web for photographers I was well aware of what was available all over the country and I am happy to say I think Tanner Photography Studio is not only the best in the Atlanta area but probably one of the best in the country. I am extremely happy with my pictures and I will definitely be using them again in the near future. They are the best!
