Jay Irwin, owner of Tatanka Stone Inc., is absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL, CONDESCENDING and RUDE! He cut my piece of granite wrong TWICE and responded, first, by throwing a tantrum (yelling at my... contractor, wagging his finger) and next by acting as if he were doing me a favor by attempting to correct his own mistakes!! What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Proceed with caution in all dealings with Mr. Irwin as his ARROGANCE and SHORT FUSE make him extremely UNPREDICTABLE.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
After the exceptional workmanship and service from the first project I have now used Tatanka again. Purchased a rental house and had them do everything from Kitchen to bath. They do outstanding work... and recommend them to everyone I hear talking about doing a granite project.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

My experience with this customer. She was a return customer who loved my work I did on her kitchen and just bought a new home. I struggled many hours bidding and tracking down specific stone she had requested with pictures and pricing at each location, all to find she wanted to keep the granite she had (I understand). She then asked me to match her existing granite and make a window sill. I gave her 50% off and she insisted her contractor could make the template and install. (BIG MISTAKE) Customer called on after hours Saturday evening in a panic demanding I remake it. This all after she told me he tried to cut it and fit it. I took time out with my family to ease stress, only to get ambushed when I arrived. I left with good faith to remake the piece so everyone was happy. At this time measurements were changed from original requests and I felt I was getting the short end of the stick. Two days later her piece was done with no request for compensation. She returned saying it was 1/16 to wide (it was a drywall template that was not cut straight?) we took 2min and it was fixed. I did think I did her a favor but I guess there are two sides to every story. Bottom line we offer free templating and installation so there are no mistakes. Please do so. Thanks! We love our customers and don't want to see anyone unhappy. We strive for five stars every time. Thanks for reading!

Jay, the owner of Tatanka, is a great craftsman and takes pride in his work. I would highly recommend him and his company for stone work. I received a high quality product at a good, fair price. Jay's team was efficient and respectful.

We were referred to Tatanka stone by an interior designer who had done work with them before. We were SO pleased! When Jay saw the granite we had picked out, he was not happy with the amount of fill in the granite and told us so instead of just slapping it in. He was honest and told us he wouldn't want a piece like that in his own kitchen. We were newbies to granite and wouldn't have known any difference. Jay showed us how to tell if the granite had fill in it and came with us to see the new piece we had picked. His installation was flawless and we couldn't be happier with the quality or the price we paid. We will definitely be using Tatanka again for our future home projects - it is nice to find someone in home improvement who is detail-oriented, particular about his materials and trustworthy. They also always showed up when they said they would, which seems like a rare thing with contractors these days.

I've been an interior designer in the Omaha area for 40 years, and have used virtually every granite company in Omaha. Jay Irwin, Tatanka Stone inc. is by far the best. I've used him with clients, who were extremely happy, and in my own home. He does beautiful work, very cost competitive, reliable, a pleasure to do business with!!!

All promises broken. Never showed up as agreed, was late or completely missed appointments...no apologies, just excuses that were empty. Completely mismanaged business. Canceled order because I could never seem to get product delivered as promised.

Tatanka Stone Inc. is a small company dedicated to there customers and their satisfaction. We believe this review was posted by a non-customer trying to belittle our standing in the community. We stand by our work so much we invite this person to stand up and except out 100% satisfaction guarantee. We replace or repair any project we have done that you are not happy with. That's how confident we are on our craftsmanship and quality. The posting claims they cancelled their order, would you believe someone would cancel their order if they had 50% down non-refundable on cancelled orders? Any one who has worked with us knows this would never had happened. My customers are my business, and my business is my life. Tatanka Stone would never jeopardize this. I truly do wish Kudzu would require proof of purchase to post reviews as the BBB does. We have no complaints with the BBB & we still call ourselves a 5 star company. Thanks for reading. We look forward to working with you in the future.
