I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Miller. She is truly one in a million! I saw her for an emergency visit with my dog and then went back to my regular vet for follow-up. I returned to... her office for her signature on an insurance paper and she took the time to come out, ask how my dog was doing, and discuss the condition and prognosis, even though she isn't following her. She didn't care whether I was going there or not; her concern was for my pet, and that meant so much given the possible diagnosis. Terrell Mill is nice, but so expensive! I pay more annually for care of our pet than I do for my husband and I combined. They wanted over $500 for neutering, and each time we take him for a checkup... (twice annually), I get charged another $250 each time. We recently boarded him for one night (Saturday to Sunday) and was charged $63 (that's two days fee). When I called for an adjustment in the rate, I was told that since the hospital workers still had to come into the office to take care of the animals, we were charged two days. Needless to say, Terrell Mill has lost a paying customer, and a boarding client. I recommend you look elsewhere for animal care - this place is nice, but not to your wallet.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Thank you for your review of August 9, 2012. As the Director of Terrell Mill Animal Hospital, I feel it is my responsibility to personally review any events that have caused our clients to be dissatisfied with our services.
I reviewed the medical record and invoice for the visit in question. As you are aware, you came in to TMAH on Saturday, August 4, 2012 for boarding with a scheduled pick up time on Monday, August 6, 2012. When the weekend Technician called me on Sunday, August 5th and informed me you were requesting to pick up early on Sunday, I okayed the early pick up. It is our policy that Sunday pick ups be arranged in advance as we are not open for business on Sundays and special arrangements must be made. However, I was glad to accommodate your request as you obviously arrived home earlier than you had expected to.
As to your concerns regarding the fees for boarding, it clearly states on the Boarder Consent form, that pets released after 2:00 p.m. will be charged for a full day of boarding. In essence, much like a hotel, our check out time is 2:00 p.m. I have enclosed a copy of your Boarder Consent Form for your review.
It is never our intent at TMAH to deceive our clients and we do not charge for services not rendered.
I appreciate the fact that you have been a loyal client and I am concerned that we obviously did not communicate our boarding policy in a clear and concise manner to you. For that reason, I have enclosed a check to cover the full boarding stay. Whenever an issue like this occurs, I often find it to be a communication issue and part of our goal is to make sure that never happens.
We would be delighted to continue to providing veterinary care for your pet, but if you chose to seek care at another veterinary facility, I wish you nothing but the best.

My dog gets sick a lot and has a lot of issues. We've always gotten wonderful care from Dr. Edward and Dr. Huggins. The office staff always greets me by name, and are very helpful. They are not the cheapest vet, but I feel that the trust that I have in their care is worth slightly higher prices.
Our elderly dog, Cole, was given excellent care during his declining years by the staff at Terrill Mill. Dr. Robinson always spent time with us talking about options to keep him comfortable and functioning. When we had to put him to sleep at age 14, it was handled with the utmost sensitivity and respect. We truly felt our precious friend was given the very best care possible by his "family" at Terrill Mill.
Dr. Lisa Craig saved my dog. She is the best! I trust her with my babies. She is a wealth of knowledge and truly loves animals!
I brought in a newly adopted kitten into this clinic because it was the closest to my house and I am new to the area. I really should have done more research. I walked out of the office with a $242 bill for a ROUTINE check-up and the normal testing done on a new kitten. And this was with a FREE check-up because my kitten was adopted from a shelter. That is absolutely absurd. My old clinic would have been around $90 maximum. Also, my kitten unfortunately came out to be Feline Leukemia positive, and the doctor-Dr. Craig couldnt even give me a life expectancy, symptoms, what would happen next- NOTHING. I am completely clueless here- i have never had or been around a cat with feline leukemia so I need some guidance. You think that guidance would come from your vet, and instead, I am having to do hours of research online to know what to expect and know how to take care of my kitten. If the vet can't even give medical advice, I dont know why else they are there. Then, when I called today to get my test results back from a $150 additional feline leukemia test, she acted extremely irritated that I was calling back after 4 days to know my results. I believe her exact words were "I will call YOU and be sure to check when I get in in the mornings." I am sorry that I am worried about my cat and need to know her test results to be able to better help her. Ridiculous. Needless to say, once I eventually get my test results, I will be switching hospitals. I'm fed up.

I have been going to TMAH for years now and I am really stunned to come across these reviews this morning! Although they do seem a little pricey (I have not shopped around but they are not cheap), the people and the service have always been nothing short of fantastic to me and my 2 dogs. Dr. Miller is absolutely wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her. You can tell she genuinely cares about every single pet she sees and she takes however long she needs to explain everything in detail so you understand and she always gives every option. I am always on a tight budget and she always gives numerous possibilities so we can work it out to get what I need done. Whenever I've had tests done or a surgery, she is always the one who picks up the phone and calls with the updates herself. The rest of the staff have also never been anything but polite and helpful and friendly (offer water as soon as I walk in the door, say hello to my dogs, etc.). I've highly recommended this place to everyone who will listen for years now and I stand by that 100%.
I am baffled by some of these reviews. TMAH is the best animal hospit al we have ever used. We have been customers for20 years. In that time they have cared for 5 of our dogs. Dr. Izen is the best vet we have ever used for our dogs. In our married life we have had vets in NJ, Belgium, NY and Louisiana. TMAH stands head and shoulders above all of them and they were very good vets. When it's your pet's health and welfare on the line, you want the very best. TMAH has it all. Large, clean clinic. Friendly and respectful staff. Knowledgeable and compassionate doctors. I've been taking my dogs there for over 2 years, and I would not consider taking them anywhere else. From major surgery to routine check-ups, I have always left feeling confident that my animals have received top-of-the-line care. In particular, Dr. Arvid Edward is an outstanding doctor. Not only is he kind, but he always takes as much time as you and your pet need to answer all of your questions and make you understand any diagnosis and feel comfortable with any treatment plan. I am so grateful to have found this veterinary clinic, and I recommend it without reservation to all my friends and family.
I took my 7-yr-old INDOOR cat here to be bathed for fleas while I flea bombed my house for fleas I'd brought in after clearing out the wooded area in my backyard. I'd never had fleas before or since so this was not an ongoing problem, which I clearly told them. They told me he'd have to have current shots in order to be bathed there, which forced "practice" is not necessary for any factually-based reason, but I agreed to do this. I asked what the charges would be, was quoted $89, and said that was fine as I really could not afford any more that day. At 6:00 pickup time I was met with a whopping $301 invoice. Included were a complete physical exam and a box of Advantage, which they'd already treated him with WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and which I'd never have okayed as I had a previous cat develop problems after using Advantage; however, THEY NEVER CALLED FIRST! I was furious but didn't want to make a scene with others picking their pets up at the same time. I paid and left. My cat did have a bad reaction to the Advantage; he's recovering from the resulting dull, dry, reddened coat, but still suffers from chronic vomiting which began almost immediately after treatment by this clinic. I can't imagine any pet owner using this vet clinic unless they've just never been anywhere else for comparison and/or are rolling in money. I recommend going anywhere but here!

I recently called Terrell Mill to get my vaccination records for my pet faxed to another clinic because I was boarding my pet there (out of convenience). I was greeted with an extremely rude receptionist that was not very keen to helping out THEIR client. I was so frustrated with my conversation that I had the new clinic call for me instead. The new clinic was greeted with the same rude receptionist (I can't imagine they had more than one) that was very short, unprofessional, and actually hung up on the clinic I was boarding my pet at. After apologizing to the new place, I set up a vaccination appointment for the next month at the new clinic (because my pet's vaccinations were due). Even my 5 year old daughter Bailey said to leave the "mean clinic." I have never had a problem with Terrell Mill until now. I guess when it comes to what they thought was "competition," they're poor sports. The doctors have been very nice to my pets.

Agree with most posts here. Shocked by the amt. of money charged for meds I can get elsewhere. Vet, while usually very nice, became defensive when I asked about their unacceptable prices. Also concerned by the VERY different approaches to treating the same problem that I'm getting from two vets. Not sure which to trust and wish I knew where to turn for help.

I have spent many hours in Terrell Mill with many different pets over the years. Dr. Kilgos was my original vet, and when she left Dr. Miller operated on my dog in an emergency(to remove a rack of ribs from his stomach) and I was hooked. She's not only a fantastic vet, but a wonderful person as well. My dogs/cats actually love going to Terrell Mill, and are always happy to see her. When I had to put my last dog to sleep, I felt Dr. Miller was just as upset as I was, and that meant a lot. I've recommended her to friends over the last few years and they've been as impressed as I have been. The staff of Terrell Mill(front desk, vet techs, kennel, other vets)have always been polite and helpful either on the phone or in person. I'm grateful to have been able to use them over the last 4 years.

I agree that TMAH is very, very expensive. I don't mind paying for the doctor services. However, I refuse to pay the extraordinarily overpriced medications. Of course, when one of my pets is ill, I will have the prescription partially filled on the spot so I can give the meds until the online prescription order arrives (at a much cheaper price.) However, for the maintenance meds (like the flea and heartguard), I comparison shop online and have found the exact brand meds for $50 to $80 cheaper than TMAH. Also, when the online pharmacies call TMAH to confirm the medication, the staff is VERY RUDE although you would think their code of ethics would prevent that type of behavior. I realize Dr. Izen is in business to make a profit; however, greed is another story. You know that the online pharmacies are making a profit even though their prices are $50 to $80 less than TMAH so how greedy is Dr. Izen?? I suppose we should all admire the expensive sports car that Dr. Izen drives - as we have all contributed to it by paying his overpriced prescription prices!

I've been going to Terrell Mill Animal Hospital for a number of years. Both my cat and dog see Dr. Miller and I really like her. She is very kind, has a great bedside manner with my pets, and is thorough during our visits. She is the only vet I see there, so I can't comment on the others. Unfortunately, the office staff at TMAH is horrible. The ladies at the front desk are RUDE on the phone and they act as though they are being inconvenienced to do their job.
