I recently boarded my dog Satch at the Animal Keeper in Encinitas. I especially would like to mention how friendly and pleasant the front desk person was both when I dropped Satch off and again when I picked him up. Satch almost didn't want to go home. The $10 I spent on his going home bath was a real bargain. I'm used to spending much more at other places to have him bathed. It's worth it to board Satch occasionally just for the bath! I'm really happy with my experience at AK and would highly recommend it to everyone.

WE just LOOOOOVE the Animal Keepers. Baker, my Bichon Frise Puppy loves to go see all of his little puppy friends and people pals! I do not worry one bit while I am away because I know that he is being taken great care of, AND Baker is having so much fun on his "play dates" with other dogs and "snuggle time" with the employees there. I have so many friends that leave there puppies.... i.e. their "babies" with The Animal Keepers" and they all have only the best things to say!

I have used the Animal Keeper for years--my little Shitzu loves everyone at the Animal Keeper. They are so caring and he has the best time. I never worry. When I pick him up, he is in great shape. I can't thank the Animal Keeper enough -it allows me to feel comfortable when I go away. I highly recommend the Animal Keeper for those that love their pets as do we! By the way, I can only guess that any negative comments could be from some disgruntled former employees.

BEWARE IF YOU CARE! The Keeper broke my 3.5 lb dog's leg by dropping him on the floor. They shouldn't have been carrying him anyway - in fact the girl was carrying BOTH of our small dogs. That's what leashes are for. The manager LIED to us about what happened that afternoon, told us he was fine, and didn't take him to a vet to be looked at after breaking him. We found out that night after picking him up SCREAMING and taking him to Emergency that his leg was broken. Medical bills totaling almost $5000 were submitted within days and were not paid until a month and a half later. We had no contact from AK for almost a month after the break - they just ignored us and our faxes for reimbursement. They didn't care that it took 16 trips to the hospital to fix him, nor did they care that I had to postpone 2 job installations in order to stay home with my dog. He had to be CONFINED in a crate for TWO MONTHS during recovery. I should have turned it over to an attorney for this GROSS NEGLIGENCE.
