In the spirit of "buying local," I came to this store after deciding to reestablish my aquarium. I quickly observed the signs of a business failing to big-box competitors: Inflated prices, rude staff, sub par products, and lack of cleanliness. I was so turned off by this experience and the way I was made to feel as a customer that I will not return. The interior of the store is overwhelmingly packed with products, all of which show visible signs of being extremely old, and priced much higher than competitors. I was followed around the store by the owner, who was more concerned with what I was looking at than offering to help. Each of my questions were met with disdain and condescension. Instead of trying to help me achieve the tank that I was prepared to purchase and care for, it was the owner's voiced opinion that I stick with something that she felt would be better for "someone like me" to maintain. It is unclear to what exactly this judgment referred, but I had previously explained that I am not new to maintaining aquariums. The Aquarium Pets does have a large number of fish in the store but the variety is very limited. All of the tanks are very dirty and the fish appear to be in questionable health. It is probably for this reason that the fish are the most reasonably priced items, but no health guarantee is offered; Unlike competitors.

The owner/manager, whoever he is is very rude. Nasty attitude not fitting of someone who wants your money. If you're in desperate need of something not at Petsmart, there's another pet store in Batesburg-Leesville that caters to aquarium pet owners. Lazy Creek Discount pet supplies I think.
