After a bad experience with one of the vets, who basically called me a liar about how I gave medication to my dog and then demanded repeating exams, even though I had the dogs medical records, I decided the greed and push to screw the pet owners over for a profit was too much for me to patronize them anymore.

After reading the excellent reviews about The Ark, I KNEW my dog would receive great care, and I would be warmly received. BOY, WAS I WRONG! I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, been in any doctor's office (human or animal) where the service was SOOOO LACKLUSTER! No one was at the front desk to receive patients. Once the receptionist returned, she was less than enthusiastic to wait on us. I told the receptionist what services my dog required, and was asked to wait. I completed the application, and ONE HOUR later, left that place - FOREVER! If I could rate them 0 stars, I would. However, I am forced by this application to give them 1 star. So, one star it is...

I got a 2 month old maltese and I needed to get a health examination to make sure he was okay. I had to wait almost an hour to be seen, which I guess is okay for a walk-in, but they could at least warn you about the waiting time. Dr. Johnson's examination consisted on petting my dog, making comments on how cute he is and giving me a lecture on potty training. She barely examined my dog and all she did was talk and talk and fake smile. Not worth the $100 bucks. When I asked her about how to remove the tear stains my dog had (which are common on white dogs) all she did was recommend a product "Angel eyes" which I have read is not good for dogs. For me the service was useless, just a waste of time and money. I am sure you can find much better vets for the same price.

Dr. Johnson and her staff are fantastic! They take great care of my cats and keep in touch! They have gone above and beyond to be attentive toward all animals I have seen come in the clinic -- all animals are taken care of, cared for, and they make sure the animal is the top priority and is healthy. And in terms of boarding, her staff ensures that all animals have a great time and are not lonely. Bring in toys and they take them out to play and all of the staff genuinely love animals!

I am very impressed with The Ark. It's squeaky clean, and the vets and staff are very gentle with my pets. Not to mention, they are very knowledgeable. Drs. Johnson and Moore have previously seen my geriatric bunny. When they found that his problem was a tooth spur, which they didn't have the equipment to handle, they recommended someone who did (Dr. Akin at All Creatures in Dunwoody). My cats had their first visit to The Ark this week, for check-up and shots. They were examined by Dr. Moore, and we discussed which shots they needed since they are indoor cats and didn't react well to their last round of shots. He identified the problem; said they didn't need it again. He was right - no reaction this time. It's also comforting to know that they provide emergency care. I'm glad I found The Ark!

I visited The Ark Animal Hospital for the first time today to get a second opinion about my pet's condition. The doctor and staff made me feel as if I had always been a client. I appreciate the concern the doctor and staff showed toward me and my family the minute we walked in the door. It was such a relief to feel that I had finally found a place that I could trust with the care of my pet! Wow, what a difference from the assembly line at Banfield! Thank you to The Ark Animal Hospital for the kind, professional greeting we received, and the care and concern you showed toward the health of our baby! I'm definitely switching from Banfield to The Ark. Thanks again for the wonderful service we received from the doctor and staff!

Our cat got out for a couple months and stepped through its collar...(he was a rescue cat used to his freedom.) the friction caused a really bad lesion that needed sewn up. bad infection so he needed antibiotics as well. we really didn't have a choice in that we needed emergency help but wow, this place takes full advantage of you in every conceivable way. The infection was so bad our baby smelled like rot. they didn't clean him. They simply shaved him and sowed him up. $1100. The breakdown is absolutely unreal and we had a trip scheduled and had to leave him overnight for ONE extra day - $175 for that. My fellow honest humans, do yourself a favor and, unless your pet is terminal and there is no where else to do, stay away from this Vet at any cost. I am absolutely furious at the gouging we received here and our animal is still filthy, unbathed and very likely to re-infect if were not careful. should have been cleaned before sown up. unbelievable

This glowing review is from Milo, a 13-year-old Shih Tzu mix rescue who was thrown from a car as a 5-month puppy. Milo and I have seen several vets over these 13 years and Dr Johnson and her staff at The Ark rate the very best ever. Dr Johnson has been our vet for many years (6 or 7 years). I highly recommend taking your pets to The Ark Animal Hospital. They will love you even more!

I recently adopted a Lab named Samantha. She was around 6 months when we received her. She was the first dog our family ever had and we wanted the best for her. She was seemed uncomfortable around people and extremely shy, so we had to take that in consideration. I just wanted her to be okay. I did an Atlanta search of local vets and The Ark Animal Hospital immediately grabbed my attention. Long story short after our first visit with their veterinarian Dr. Johnson, I knew it was a perfect match. She was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. Samantha was checked out to be healthy. It is now a year later and I still call The Ark our vet. They helped us with boarding when spur of the moment trips occurred and we couldn't take her. We had her neutered and she recovery fully from that with no issues. Samantha is not so nervous around people anymore, she is more out-going and energetic. I thank the Ark Animal Hospital for bringing her back to life.

THE ONLY STAFF I TRUST WITH MY MAXWELL!!!!! In October of 2011, I received a black mini daschund named Maxwell. I have heard wonderful things about this animal hospital from a close friend of mine who I trust completely. Without hesitation I dropped my then 3 month old puppy for his for 1st check-up after I purchase him from his breeder and for any shots that were needed. My puppy was treated like he was one of their own. This definitely reassured me that I had picked an excellent choice. For the Christmas holiday, we needed to travel and we weren't allowed to take him with us because the hotel we were staying in did not allow pets. The Ark also provides boarding. I checked in advance to see if he could stay for a week and he was welcomed. I checked in on him as often as I could and I had no worries because I knew he was safe. There was one occasion when I took him outside in the yard to use the restroom that he accidentally swallowed a small twig. I was so worried that he wasn't going to make it. They immediately prepped him for surgery and after a few days of recovery and meds, he was back to his hyper self. They saved his life!! I will forever be greatful. He is now 9 months and we still call The Ark Animal Hospital the only one we can trust. Thanks so much to Dr. Johnson and all the staff who have taken care of my little guy.

The experience was awful. We brought our two cats in for blood work and watched as they were man-handled, even after repeated requests that the cats wouldn't bite or scratch. The staff gave us no price quotes and the work cost 3 times what it did at our previous vet. The in-house lab returned inaccurate results on both cats for white blood cell counts. The blood work had an indicator that there were blood aggregates detected (which would cause most vets to re-test), but instead Dr. Johnson said that their white blood cell counts must be high because they were grieving from the loss of our other cat! She then declared that the lymphocytes could also be high because of infection (a quick internet search will dispel that theory). She used her inaccurate assessment to sell us Clavamox for both cats based on bad blood work. We took our cats back to our old vet a couple days later and their blood work was fine and cost 1/3 of the price.

My six month old miniature dachshund ate thin mints one morning and I rushed him to the Ark. The staff was very helpful and compassionate when I almost broke into tears at their front desk. Monty was well taken care of, and has been doing great ever since his emergency visit. I was pleasently surprised when I received a phone call about a week later asking me how Monty was doing! I've never had a vet that has taken that much interest in their patients. I will definitely be using the Ark in the future.

Needed a new vet when I moved to midtown. Found them online and I love this place. Great facilities, friendly staff, great hours (they are now 24 hours) and the best veterinarian (Dr. Johnson). Unfortunately I have had to go several times over the past few months (dog was having issues) but Dr. Johnson and her staff made each visit a pleasure and were able to address my dog's needs. Great place!
