Great people, great shop
I've stopped in several times for adjustments and minor fixes. The people here have been so helpful not only with the mechanics but in giving riding tips and encouragement to this novice bike rider. I give them my highest recommendation!

your neighborhood bike shop
I always loved bikes and I remember the shop filled with bikes that I used to get my bikes from. They would maintain my bike and when the time was right I would get a new bike from the shop. Well, I found a neighborhood bike shop at the Bicycle Wheel. A few years back I went to get my junky bike adjusted, Scott did what was needed (and didn't laugh at the dinky bike). When the time comes for a new bike. The bicycle wheel will be one of my first choices.

Knowledgeable, personable, trustworthy
Scott and Amos at The Bicycle Wheel are both very knowledgeable, personable, and good at what they do. This past spring, I (a relative newbie) was looking to have a road bike built up out of a hodge-podge of old, used components. I called around and visited several shops in the area (including one of the big chain shops), and the Bicycle Wheel's price was definitely competitive, if not the lowest (it's been a while). What tipped the scales in their direction was the time that Amos took with me to go through each and every component to be sure it was functional and compatible with the others, and help me come up with a list of other smaller items (rim tape, cables/housing, derailleur bracket, etc) that I needed to acquire before the build. None of the other shops took this type of time with me at all, just gave me a rough quote without even glancing at my parts. Scott did the build on my bike, and I have been very pleased with it to date. So, overall a great shop, and I'm glad to know and use these guys. The only reason for 4 stars on 'value' is that their accessories can be a little on the pricey side and can be found significantly discounted online. But, local bike shops can't really compete there, and where these guys shine is in their service. Also worth noting: the Saturday morning group rides are a lot of fun and a great way to get initiated to the sport.

Great Service
Scott and Amos really know what they're doing and really care about their customers. I get my road bike and my mountain bike serviced here and really appreciate their honesty and attention to detail. Couldn't recommend anybody any higher.

Knowledgable, Friendly, and Affordable!!
I purchased a bike about a month ago from them. Prior to my purchase, Scott (the store owner) gave me a wonderful tutorial on shifting gears. He also informed me that they have lifetime free maintainance on bikes purchased there. To back that up, within a few days, I managed to knock the chain off the gears. When I took it in to be fixed, one of the staff happily fixed it for me at no charge. Also, they even installed new tires on my husbands wheelchair at no additional charge (we paid for the tires only). All this took place over 3 separate visits. At each visit, we have found the staff to be extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase a bike or replace wheelchair tires.
