Country Bride and Gent is a total rip off. I purchased my bridesmaid dress from here for my best friend's wedding and the cost for the alterations was the same price as the cost for the dress! Ridiculous! And $200 for what?! So my ZIPPER could break ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING due to poor sewing on the waist sash that was added. I missed half the pictures because the other bridesmaid (who was also unhappy with the fit of her dress) had to tape and pin me into the dress!! And how did Country Bride and Gent attempt to restore my confidence in their business? By giving me $30 off! $30 OFF a $400+ DRESS!!! And what's even worse, THEY STILL HAVE MY DRESS!!! THEY HAVE NOT EVEN CALLED!!! THAT WEDDING WAS IN OCTOBER!!! It is my belief they are still working on it because they messed it up so badly. Or they are simply avoiding me because they already got their money, and they know I AM VERY UNHAPPY with the experience. Great way to treat your customers! You should give even BETTER treatment to customer that have received a bad experience, not brush them under the rug. The only positive that has come out of this experience for me, is I DID NOT purchase my wedding gown or any of the wedding clothes or accessories from Country Bride and Gent, THANK GOD! Which is probably why I did not encounter any of the above mentioned problems on my wedding day.

The best experience I have had out of many stores I went to! Tried on many kinds of dresses and something was not right...found out this store word of mouth from sister in law and it was the best decision I ever made! Made a appointment and went in. Christine was the best, she picked a dress I would have never put myself in, after 19 years she know's what she is doing!! It was 'the one!' I made 1 last apt at another bridal store and got no where, left there and went right to Christine and said thank you! Through everything she has been amazing, very honest and personable!! Wouldn't have done it any other way!

Groom's stepfather went out of his way (3 hour drive) to make sure he got fitted for his suit for my son's wedding this past october. Son picked up the suit (since we don't live nearby) and trusted that the salesperson helping him checked the suit and accessories while my son checked the sizes on his receipt. When we arrived in town Saturday afternoon, suit jacket and length was the wrong size, shirt was two sizes too big and the tie was the wrong color. They close at 4PM on Saturday and closed on Sunday so we could do nothing about it. Called after wedding and was given rude customer service. Asked to have the owner call me and he never did. Apparently, once they get paid they don't care if you like the service or not. Disputed the charge with my credit card and The Country Gent said it was our responsibility to make sure we got the right size! What nonsense and shoddy service. Please don't trust these characters with your once in a lifetime event!

Perhaps the people who had bad experiences did not make appointments? They tell you on the website and when you go that making appointments is the best way to insure you have great service. Anyways, I had a great experience picking out my dress and my bridesmaids dresses. They are all going to get fitting this weekend and I stressed making appointments so that everyone will have the right attention. They sent me cards and called me when my veil came in and when my dress is expected, communication is great! I found the prices to be reasonable too. I would suggest this place to others. I know many girls who have used this place and all but one had a great experience. I'm sorry to those who have not.

I understand that some people have had some bad experiences. I have been working at the Country Bride for over a year now. In June 2008,before I was an employee and with 13 months until my wedding, I called the Country Bride on a Friday to see if they could fit me in for an appointment, they happily fit me in! I worked with a wonderful consultant and loved my experience. I ended up finding my gown at another store where they were strong arming me into purchasing it for $1100. My mom and I called the country bride to see if they sold the gown and they did, for $400 less!! I went back in and purchased my gown with absolutely no trouble! I came back several times with my bridesmaids and to try on veils and all of the consultants could not have been more helpful. When my veil came in, it was completely the wrong color. Sue, the manager, helped us and called the company right away. My dress came in and was a bit too small. Susan and I worked out a regimen to come in every six weeks, take my measurements and see how my progress was on fitting back into my gown. This is not your typical Bridal Shop! Where else could you go and have such personal service? I enjoyed my experience so much I joined the team of wonderful and helpful women. We all take pride in what we do and while we cannot make everyone happy we stive to make your experience pleasant, fun and stress free!
