Everything went very well. Howard was more than prompt and arrived early. He waited until I returned home from walking my dog and left a voice message while I was walking my dog that he'd arrived early, Howard explained what he would do about the chewed wire and proceeded to fix the problem. He cut the chewed section off and replaced it with new wire. The two ends were connected and placed in their own plastic junction boxes with covers and nailed to the joists. The insulation around the boxes were cleared so that the boxes are visible and the new wire lies on the insulation. After repairing the damaged wire, Howard replaced a rudimentary (utility), porcelain light base that crackled when a light bulb was screwed in. Eventually, that overly sensitive light based needed to be replaced and Howard did that. He even provided a new light bulb. I asked him to install a switch at the top of the attic ladder so that the new light could be turned on via the switch instead of feeling for a wire attached to a chain to turn on the light. He neatly ran the new wire from the light to the switch (about 8 feed) along the rafter to the nearest rafter at the top of the attic ladder's opening. Much, much safer and easier to turn on t

Howard did some work in my house a couple of times. He's a very nice man. I felt like he was pricey so when I recently had an issue, I called someone else. Come to find out that Howard ran a wire from one outlet into a crawl space for an outlet I asked for using "#12" cable, without a GFCI, and without hanging the wire. Not hanging the wire is one thing, but running it off of a plug and forcing the wire back into the housing is another. Highly disappointed, felt I'd been getting better, SAFER, service than that.
