Uneven quality, limited opportunity
The philosophy of the school has some outstanding components, but it is not well implemented. There are some excellent teachers - but unfortunately just as many who are not fully comitted and engaged. The environment is often nurturing, but often the students are just allowed to "be", without encouragement or attention from faculty and staff. Given the small size of the school, finding ways to help each child realize their potential should be an important objective. My child flourished far more in a good public school where discipline was consistent and rules were clear. In the name of "not fostering competition", some children are ignored while others are "secretly selected" for honors and opportunities. The education is adequate but not unique or exceptional.

not best choice for middle and high school
Galloway has some definite strengths, but can't be considered consistently good. We found too many areas where there was little positive change or freshness in philosophy, and teachers are often in a rut. INconsistent vision, inconsistent curriculum planning and implementation, does not encourage students to reach for their potential. It is a comfortable environment and students like it.perhaps a little too much. If they don't want to be challenged, no one calls them out....

Questionable value and inconsistent
My child attended Galloway for preschool, elementary and part of middle school. The early years were very good, but much after that was mediocre. The school has potential, but does not live up to it. There are some great teachers, but too many that are not up to par for a private school. Communication with parents is poor - you often get very little information from teachers and they area very seldom "proactive" in letting you know of problems or issues. The school touts differentiation in the classroom to meet kids' academic needs, but it is rare to see it implemented so bright kids are often not challenged to reach their potential. HIgh school is too small to offer a wide variety of course offerings and extracurricular opportunities are weak and inconsistent from year to year. There are much better public and private schools in the area.

What a School. Incredible Place
The Galloway school from the teachers, parents, students, and leadership is amazing. The curriculum is innovative, relavant and builds kids self-esteem. Their focus is on turning out confident students that can think on their own. We could not be happier

The Galloway School
We have one grandchild now in the 12th grade and
can tell you from Kindergarten until now, we have
been very pleased with Galloway School. Also, we
have a grandchild who is now in the 3rd grade from
Kindergarten until today, Galloway's marks are
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, There are WONDERFUL THINGS TO SAY ABOUT GALLOWAY. IT IS INDEED A COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS - The child who gets Galloway is one more "lucky ducky kid". He is rich far beyond mere material things. It is a spiritual place where all children are taught respect for themselves and all others in this great community
Galloway is not just a school but a second home
to all the students I know. I would recomend Galloway School to a close relative just moving into town.
