James Wallace is a few steps short of a crook. I do not have enough space to enumerate my grievances, so I will try to segment it. Professionalism: 0 / 10. Did not give a formal contract. When asked for one, he sent a broken English text message. Demanded payment for different parts of the job broken up into segments before job was completed due to 'needing the money for materials really bad'. He also demanded payment for the job before he was finished due to my failing to tell him I was going out of town for the weekend. I did not oblige, and when I returned he demanded payment BEFORE finalizing the job again. He guilted me in to paying him, and I never saw him again. He also expected me to be home all day every day, as if I don't have a job. Timeliness: 2/10 He was always late except for the original "quote", which was a very hand wavy unofficial undocumented process. Told me he was "coming out tomorrow" to finish up a part of the job 3 days in a row. Took him 6 days to finally show up. Told me he was installing the gutters on a Thursday, did it Saturday. He was scheduled to come out at 8:30 am to review the job and fix the soffit that he did a terrible job on. Demanded payment the night before, called me at 10am when he "just woke up", and never showed up again. Quality of work: Can't say now, time will tell. Seems to be decent though. Price: Cheaper than the other people I talked to, but not worth the hassle of dealing with him.
