The Jewel Box

I hope this doesn't become one of the new hip bars. It has such a true authentic, dirtbag quality. I don't want to see it ruined by metrosexuals and white belts.

Have to give this great dive bar 4 stars. Cheap beer, cool bartenders and a laid back atmosphere...

If you are a local, The Jewel Box is one of two bars worth goint to. The other is Tivoli's. Good bar grub and local friendly crowd. Easy quick access to the 94 East freeway where the cops never have drunk driving checkpoints, Not even on St Pats Day!

In downtown, great places to go with out having to take out a loan for cover charges and drinks is usually unheard of. This is the place to go. It is right down the freeway from where I live and a perfect stop for me and my friends as we head to some baseball games. Staff is friendly and some good crowds in there.

If you haven't been, you have to go. Before you walk into the place go around the side and view the wall where the drunk driver drove down the freeway off-ramp and into the Jewel Box.story is he got out of his car and ordered a drinkI find that hard to believe. Very diverse, fun crowd w/out your downtown drink prices. Grab a cold one before a Pads game.....
