Description

E-mail: MathMajorInfo@gmail.com *** Disclaimer: I tutor all the students myself. I do not hire outside tutors! If you select our business, you get me, not someone else! ***

A professional starting his own in-home tutoring business! I’ve had years of experience tutoring middle school, high school, and university level students. I developed my passion for tutoring while studying at the University of Virginia (UVA) when the UVA Math Department asked me to tutor other UVA students taking.. math courses (both basic and advanced).

Upon earning my BA in Mathematics and BS in Biology from UVA, I began my professional career but always wanted to create a tutoring company in my hometown. Through the years, I’ve identified the pitfalls that are present in standard classroom teaching, but most especially the textbooks. My unique approach is to break down the materials and lessons in a very easy to understand method, allowing the student to quickly grasp the pertinent information while building a solid education base.

I can teach any level of mathematics including:

- Arithmetic/Basic Mathematics
- Finite Math
- Algebra I & II
- Geometry
- Trigonometry
- AP Calculus AB & BC
- Probability and Statistics
- Ordinary Differential Equations
- Linear Algebra
- Cryptography

I earned a 740 in the mathematics portion of my SAT I and am able to prepare your child for all standardized testing, including:

- Thomas Jefferson (TJ) Entrance Examination
- SAT (I & II)
- ACT
- GRE
- GMAT

I have also earned my MS in Biotechnology/Regulatory Affairs from Johns Hopkins University, and can teach any level of high school science, including AP courses.

I’m located in the Herndon / Ashburn area, and can meet your child at your home or at a public location (local library). I am available on weekdays after 5 pm and on weekends at any time.

In the past, I've typically met with a student 1-2 times/week for 1-2 hours/session. Before an exam, I can come for additional time. I charge $35-45/hour, but the rate can be decided upon after identifying the student's specific needs and timelines. I provide my own questions for the student on topics that he/she need more help with outside our tutoring sessions. I prefer the student complete them and e-mail me back the responses prior to the next session so that I can come prepared ready to review the homework and move on to the next lesson. This is the most efficient use of the time spent, and allows YOU the most bang for your buck.

Locations covered: Ashburn, Herndon, Sterling, Reston, Chantilly...more coming soon!
