The Northside Tavern is smokey, bluesy, and stiff on the drinks. Everything a good neighborhood bar should be. Buckheaders are far away from here, lol.

Fun place to hear live music. Drinks are reasonably priced and fairly easy to get. The "stage" is basically the centerpiece, you can get up-close to all of the action. Seems to be busy most every night of the week. If you see the names Donnie Mac, or Bill Sheffield on the sign out front... you are sure to get a good show. If you don't like cigarettes, whiskey or blues music, this is not the place for you.

I pass the Northside on the way home from work. Great drinks (Great pours if the bartender likes you) eclectic crowd. best live music in Atlanta. highly recommended. leave your judgement at home!

Northside is an odd mix. There are grad students, bikers and barflies all co-mingling in the same smoky space with painted floors, rickety furniture and great music. The sort of place that offers tallboys and Guiness on tap. I love Northside, and if you're sick of the crowded midtown bars and clubs, give it a try. Make sure to say hi to Linda, who used to cook dinner if you get there early enough.

This is the best bar in town. It is a very laid back place with the best blues/folk/gospel bands ever! It is not pretentious and expect to have a blast!
