The Pet Set

I have been taking my dog to be groomed by Darryl for several months now. Can't say enough about what a great groomer he is. But I have to agree with some of the other reviews. Really the only reason I go here is because of Darryl. It is a great facility with a really nice (but pricey) retail store, but the front desk service can be spotty. I know some of this is due to having lots of dogs dropped off at once, but it doesn't always seem the most organized, efficient or friendly. Also, I'm unsure about the doggie day care. I've heard mixed reviews, and every time I am there for grooming and look in the daycare area, most of the dogs are in kennels, very few out running around. Not sure if that's because people haven't paid for their dog to have free play or what, but either way, the daycare area never seems that active. As for grooming though, Darryl is the best!

The wife and I recently took our eight year old pride and joy, Mashi, to the Pet Set for a shave. We have had a hard time finding a decent cat groomer in the Atlanta area and was referred to the Pet Set by a friend. Darryl came out to meet Mashi and to get an idea of how we wanted his fur to look. He was absolutely wonderful with Mashi and made me feel very comfortable with leaving him there. When we went to pick Mashi up at the scheduled time, we had to wait almost thirty minutes over the time they gave us. The customer service from the clerks in the shop was very lacking. Mashi was brought to us in his carrier. He was set on the ground very abruptly and his carrier tipped over. The clerks did not seem to care that the cat was flipped over in his carrier. The clerk walked away without a "thank you" or "good bye". This left me with a sour taste in my mouth, but Mashi seemed very relaxed and happy with the overall experience at the groomer, so I let it go.

Daryl is a wonderful groomer who listens to your needs and is very caring toward your pet. He is outstanding. The Pet Set retail staff manning the desk are average - at times you feel like they are doing you a favor by acknowledging you. The only reason I take my dog to the Pet Set is because of Daryl. I also like their selection of dog toys, biscuits, and collars. But again, the service out front leaves a lot to be desired.

My cat, who is not friendly, is always treated like the princess she thinks she is. Her baths go very well. The Pet Set always does an outstanding job!

I have nothing but praise for the Pet Set, I have taken my two dogs there many times and have always come out pleased with both the service to me and to my dogs. I have even gone to the extent of taking my in-law's dog there several times and her too has been pleased. I have read the email thread one upset customer refers to and even though I have never had to resort to contacting management, all I can see is there willingness to help in their replies. In fact someone else posted on their site they thought (as I do) that the customer was unreasonable (complaining their pet chewed up a collar too quickly)and their story seemed to have many holes. I would recommend this place to anyone with a pet. Quick tip though if you want to save some money try bathing your pet before you take it there and then just ask them for a trim (that's the hard part, anyone can give there dog a bath)
