Well - I have stayed at this location three times and have loved it two out of the three. It's the Ritz people - they have great, attentive service. I have never had any negative experiences with the valet or bellman or even the rooms. I did have a bad experience with someone at the check in desk - and to save you the details, the hotel manager called me at home and sincerely apologized, comp'd my room and sent me a coupon for a free night. The hotel is in the heart of downtown - and just like in every other city, there are homeless people. I have never experienced them inside the lobby, nor am I repulsed by them anyway - but if you don't want a city atmosphere - stay in Buckhead. They recognized my special occasions with hand written letters in my room - lots of nice touches with every interaction. I have enjoyed it every time. Let's not go without saying you can walk to everything from this hotel - Aquarium, World of Coke, Hard Rock Cafe, Underground, Atlanta Gift Mart - you have it all!

I was very disappointed with the lack of service received from this Ritz Carlton location. My stay was for a business meeting, we have chosen not to return to this location for future meetings. I was most disappointed with the check out process, at checkout, I gave the employee my vehicle ticket and a ticket to receive a piece of stored luggage- she asked me to wait in the lobby for the bellman. I waited 20 minutes, and saw that other customers were being helped but they continued to walk past me. I walked back to her and asked how much longer? She acted shocked that I was still waiting even though I was in plain sight. She sent a man to tag the luggage that I was carrying and tried to store it- this is not what I asked for, I wanted my car and stored luggage retrieved. It was very difficult to get my vehicle from the valet, they could not find it and asked me several times to describe my car. Other dissapointments- wakeup calls were always about 15-30 minutes late and were sometimes forgotten. The area outside out waiting room was constantly running out of coffee or tea. The phone in my room was broken, had to use my cell phone to call the front desk. This is not a good location either- the streets are filled with homeless people, it is not a safe area for a walk, and the Ritz allows the homeless to use the lobby late at night. I would recommend the Lake Oconee Ritz Carlton in Greensboro, GA- it is a beautiful place and the service is A+++ / Buckhead location is good too
