I too had a bad experience with the owner while taking my dog for a routine grooming. I had used a different groomer but when I arrived I was told that she was out on leave and Melinda would do the job. When I called to check if my dog was done the owner was rude and told me that I would have to pay extra since my dog was taking longer. We arrived to pick her up and she was defintely frightened. I do not know what took place but have never seen her upset like that. When we got home I noticed that her pads were cut and split and that her feet were groomed like a poodle's(she's a schnauzer). It took at least 3 weeks for her feet to heal. These people have the nerve to say that dogs are rude and that is the reason for a bad experience. Newsflash.....dogs do not exhibit rude behavior, their behavior is a product of the way that they are treated and their environment. If you can't communicate with customers, how can you work with animals?

Started using Melinda about three months ago when she came to The Stone Dog Salon and we go back once a month for a bath and trim on our Shitzu and Yorkie's. The work is exceptional and the treatment is fantastic. I guess people are always looking for something to complain about to get something for nothing. I won't take my dogs anywhere else, and I've tried em all. Keep up the great work Shari and Melinda you two put on a class act.

I've been going to The Stone Dog Salon for over a year and recently used Melinda. She did a great job on my shitzu and little maltese. One of the best grooming experiences I have ever had. Why are some people so ignorant and mean to post lies and hateful things about good people. Keep up the good work Melinda and don't let people like that upset you. We recommend you to all of our friends.

Melinda at Doggie Doos (The Stone Dog Salon) has provided some of the best service and most fantastic grooming services. As a K9 handler for Reno Police our family has trusted her for two years with our pets and recommend all of our friends to her. I have never had or heard of any bad experiences with Melinda and she is the friendliest and most warm hearted person. Her Personality ROCKS!!!!

Ms. Beauford brought her dog to me on 10/8/2010. A cross breed dog which was unrecognizable due to its physical condition and matted coat. The dog was severely matted in the ears and the mats had to be removed with a #10 blade. When mats that deep and tight are removed they have to be slightly pulled away from the ear to clip, thus causing some very light bruising and redness due to the amount of blood vessels running through the ear. This is very common. The dog was rude and would not allow itself to be clipped without moving constantly and biting. It would not allow me to dremel its toe nails to smooth them down. When Ms. Beuford called and asked how her dog was,I told her "her dog needed to learn manners" that seemed to upset Ms. Beauford. Another person later picked up the dog and refused to allow me to even put the collar on before he left the store and did not ask any questions or point out any problems. He even tipped me. I learned this on 10/12/2010 when Ms. Beauford posted a blog and never called me to discuss or explain why the ears were red (a very common rash for dogs that are so severely matted)and why his nails were still sharp. Groomers can't do miracles when owners don't do regular pet maintenance. If you have a problem or concern, address it with the groomer, there's usually an explanation. I have never hidden an injury or lied about a dogs temperment and will continue to be honest with all of my clients.

I saw a bad review about Melinda and wanted to say that I have used her for years and never had a problem. I know some dogs can have problems sometimes. She is sweet, honest and compassionate with all animals. My dog had really bad matts and they had to be cut off. It caused her to get a rash but it was explained why it happens when you have to cut them away inside the ears and it soon cleared. Sammy continues to go to Melinda and always will. I travel all the from Sparks just to take my precious to her.

I had never tried this place before, but I was driving by & used to work in that shopping center @ Utopia Day Spa, figured why not give it a shot. I called in spoke with Melinda. I made an appointment with her for my one year old cocker/shi-tzu mix. First off, she didn't even recognize my dogs breed; didn't listen to any of the info that I gave her prior to his grooming, then butchered him beyond belief! Not only is he bald for the upcoming cold weather, but his eyeball had a cut on it, and his ears were completely covered in nics and a rash! It ended up costing me $210.00 in vet bills before it was over, & my poor dog's spirit will never be repaired! It was the WORST experience that I could've ever had. I am hoping that no other pet parent has to experiencce this same thing. Especially your poor pet! She was & very unprofessional. My dog literally has knicks all over his face, especially around his eyes & all throughout his ears. His nails were left as sharp daggers that he has since scratched his face with. PLEASE, PLEASE, do not trust this woman with your beloved pet. Just because it is in a prime location & nice building, doesn't mean that it is a quality service. Beware of Melinda & her dangerous shears. Not to mention that she has the empathy & customer service skills of a ROCK!
