Went there to get a paper notarized. I brought in a favorite pen and felt it wasn't going through all the copies sufficiently, so borrowed a ballpoint. Messed up the document so returned to my car for 2 minutes to get a second copy. When I came back, I was a bit surprised to see that the pens (1 I brought and 1 I borrowed were no longer on the counter). Finished the notary of the document, paid for it and then asked for my pen. Clerk appeared to not know where it was. She mentioned no one came in after me. I affirmed that. I have my doubts. I intentionally left the 2 pens on the counter so I didn't just take it with me and forget. It seems unlikely she didn't know where it went (along with the borrowed one) in the 2 minutes I was gone and she was right that no one else came in. Honestly... it's worth a pen to risk your reputation? I was happy they had a notary on a weekend since I needed to get the document out pronto.
