great orange frosty, 8/20/2008

i love their orange frosty. it's a trademark of atlanta. not a good place for lunch or dinner unless maybe at night?

Not an everyday thing, 7/26/2008

I'll actually crave "Vitamin G" (grease) once in a while and this place is the unequaled provider of it. It's also a landmark, so visitors should always be treated to a trip here. The food is okay,... the service is excellent (whatllyahave, whatllyahave) and the price is a bit more than you should spend on hot dogs, but it's okay now and then.

take your out of town guests

This is a quirky restaurant that serves great hotdogs, and I normally don't eat hotdogs. The facility is large and can serve hundreds of people with no problems. The shakes are good and you can watch a game on one of the many TVs.

Greasy

If you do not mind greasy food, then you will enjoy the Varsity. The Orange drinks are great! If you visit Atlanta, you should stop by.

Drive-in

Frosted orange. Onion rings. Cheeseburger. All hooked onto the side of the car and served with a smile and a paper hat. Great place to eat before the game.

An Atlanta Landmark

Two chili dogs 'walkin', onion rings and a frosted orange just may be the best lunch in the world. At least it provides a good 'joint lubrication' for about 6 months.

What'll Ya Have?

The Varsity is a great tradition in Atlanta cuisine. The food is greasy, but my standard order of a naked dog and a frosted orange (a must have!) always hits the spot.

Y'all have to try it once

Anyone who lives in or visits Atlanta has to try the Varsity. You don't go here for the food but for the experience. Knowing the way to order before you go is helpful to keep from getting pushed around my veterans and the staff. The lingo is on the restaurant's website. Walk a naked dog or a slaw dog with a PC or an FO if you are a rookie. The chili can come back to haunt you. The fries and rings are sopped in grease, but native Atlantans dream about them in our sleep!

Good Atlanta Stop

How can you rate a chile cheeze hot dog place better than average? Regardless, this is a historic establishment for Atlanta and a must see at least once. Thanks Jimmy

Looking for a good hot dog in Atlanta

If you can't make it to a Dodger game, than the next best is to go to The Varsity. It is busy, noisy and that just adds to the charm. Easy to get to off the freeway and close to Centenial Park to bring tourists to while sightseeing.

Atlanta tradition outlived its days

A visit to this greasy spoon is an Atlanta tradition, but who needs all that fried grease? I suppose if you have to visit it one time to satisfy your curiosity, that would be ok. Otherwise, do not waste your time.
