I'll actually crave "Vitamin G" (grease) once in a while and this place is the unequaled provider of it. It's also a landmark, so visitors should always be treated to a trip here. The food is okay, the service is excellent (whatllyahave, whatllyahave) and the price is a bit more than you should spend on hot dogs, but it's okay now and then.

This is a quirky restaurant that serves great hotdogs, and I normally don't eat hotdogs. The facility is large and can serve hundreds of people with no problems. The shakes are good and you can watch a game on one of the many TVs.

Anyone who lives in or visits Atlanta has to try the Varsity. You don't go here for the food but for the experience. Knowing the way to order before you go is helpful to keep from getting pushed around my veterans and the staff. The lingo is on the restaurant's website. Walk a naked dog or a slaw dog with a PC or an FO if you are a rookie. The chili can come back to haunt you. The fries and rings are sopped in grease, but native Atlantans dream about them in our sleep!

If you can't make it to a Dodger game, than the next best is to go to The Varsity. It is busy, noisy and that just adds to the charm. Easy to get to off the freeway and close to Centenial Park to bring tourists to while sightseeing.

A visit to this greasy spoon is an Atlanta tradition, but who needs all that fried grease? I suppose if you have to visit it one time to satisfy your curiosity, that would be ok. Otherwise, do not waste your time.
