Chili Slaw Dogs are the best!

The Varsity is an Atlanta landmark, known far and wide for their sideshow food-fare, but if you're expecting a quality hot dog and fries, you'd be better off making them at home. This place is pricey, especially for the lackluster quality they put out, and it's just plain bad chili.

My father called them, heart-attack-in-a-bag, and in fact it was the last thing he had for lunch the day he had a heart attack that put him in a coma for three days and destroyed his short term memory completely. It's not the Varsity's fault, certainly, but it's the kind of food that doesn't lend itself to healthy living.

All this being said, if you enjoy fast-food, you will love the Varsity. That's all it is.

Not sure if any other restaurant makes frosted oranges, but none can compare to the V! As a native Atlantan, I must go to the V for an "oil change" at least once a year. Great to go to before Georgia Tech games - park on this side of the highway and better traffic after the game. Prices have increased tremendously over the last few years, hence the low value rating. Consider the entertainment of the staff as part of the experience. It is a little annoying when the place is jammed with tourists who are going just because it is in all the tourist books, but still worth it. Long live the Varsity.

Ok, you can't live in the Hot-Lanta without going to the the big V at least once. It's not that the food's great (it isn't), or that the ambiance is all that pretty (it isn't either). It's that it's an Atlanta institution. Everyone goes. And you can order a naked dog walking. Just say it. Naked. Dog. Walking. Now that's funny no matter what.
